This will just take a little practice. You move a tad slow as you slide across the piano keys so try to always keep yourself on the edge of a key. It should only take a few tries to get movement down. That's about the only thing that makes this hard is your characters movement speed.
The key is triggered when the note touches a key that is ALREADY held down. You don't need to press when it arrives you can already be standing there.
