This is the hardest achievement in the game. You need to reach the 2nd area to find and kill an armored enemy. After finishing the 1st area make sure you go down and select the 2nd level or else you'll just replay the 1st level again

If you die in level 2 do you have to do level 1 all over again?

Thumbs up. With the boss, you can stay just under him and not have to worry about other ships.

If you die in level 2, you can select try again and it restarts level 2. When you go out to the level select screen, level 2 is still unlocked.

This is probably the last Achievement you will get. You face this Enemy in Level 2 of Story Mode.
So basically, you DO need to beat Level 1.
After, This enemy is about 2 minutes into the 2nd Level
