How to unlock the Razputin achievement in Iron Brigade - Definitive Guide

You need to equip 2 items on your marine and then play a mission with them -

Psi Goggles - Completing the Emplacement Kills challenge
Raz Sweater - Completing the Scrap Collection challenge

For the Emplacement Kills Challenge you'll need 2500 kills using Emplacements (turrets, mines etc.) and for the scrap collection Challenge you'll need 25000 Scrap. After that the two items should be on your equipment list. you can check your progress by hitting start when youre on the ship, clicking challenges then right bumper over for personal challenges.

(scrap from collection emplacements also count. if you do the one before the last level in africa, sink hole think its called, you can end up with 1600-1700 scrap each time you beat it, plus Volcano is another good map for farming but it takes longer)

Maybe add in some good ways to earn scrap and emplacement kills? I won't give it a thumbs down cause your info helped out, but I can't give a thumbs up till you add that either.

Collection Pods is the best way to get scrap. Play Engineer chasis and lay them down and watch the scrap grow in MP, that is how I got that one done. Now the kills, that's another story. I've been using Flak cannons and mines and it has been working pretty well, still need about 400 though. Almost there.....

Good guide....I found Africa - The Port....to be a good level to farm scrap. Equip the engineer chasis with the collection prod, machine gun turrets, and dampeners. The main strip from the ship to the cannon keeps alot of the enemies bottlenecked so your turrets and scrap prod can do all the work.

I found Africa Sink Hole the best for scrap collection and emplacement kills.

The Oasis level is great for emplacement kills- use an engineering chassis and place mines on either side (the first one on the left) and a few machine guns in front of the base. If you do things right, you'll hardly have to shoot anything and can get 350ish kills per mission.

what I did for the scrap was load the level with the last boss, get him to his final stage and just set up a bunch of collector emplacements, machine gun turrets, and just sit next to a repair bot and go make some popcorn :) each time he does the thunder effect it drops a couple hundred scrap, you'll get it in no time. Just make sure to put your turrets as far back as possible so that he doesn't destroy your turrets with his melee attack.

A great place to farm the scrap/emplacement kills is on the last level, Farnsworth.

My strategy was thus -
Take an engineering chassis with a mine layer, machine gun turret, collection turret and a healing turret. When you start the level, immediately turn around an put down the healing turret - this is your home base. From there put a collection chassis directly in front of it, as close as you can. Branching to the right and to the left alternate collection turrets and machine gun turrets on the periphery, outside of Vlad's laser's range. Also put a collection turret at the edge of both docks, also outside of laser range. Fully upgrade as you go. Once you have a few upgraded, go ahead and damage Vlad enough to get him to the third and final phase. Now go put a mine turret on either side by the spawn points. Once everything is upgraded fully, go back to the healing turret (home base), plug in your controller and go grab a beer. You should get about 15 hundred scrap every ten minutes, with no work on your side. With this strategy, I knocked out the required kills for the Razputin suit in about an hour.

If you vote negative, please let me know why!

Whited3vil9 or what ever your user name is. I realized I put the r in between the t and the 8. And for you information. I mental disable. And have hard time spelling the whole thing. Even sometimes the spell check doesn't help me on words I need help on. And back when I was 2nd grade with disable I have. They didn't have the program that would help me at all. I putty much was fuck when comes to education. Because they where no where what they know of my disable in this day and age. And guy above this one is right about you. You are a bad speller. And take what I said for real. Because that how they did to handicap people like me back then. They did nothing at all.

Mostly for scrap, with the emplacement kills being a bonus. This is how I put my emplacement kills over the required amount, however.

its not the boss that hit my turrets, the enemies that come out eventually destroy them before I get chance to get going. the flying ones always get 1 or 2 hits on them each time

Do you know what it means to be st8 edge. It means you do not smoke. You do not drink any alcoholic at all. And you do not take any illegal drugs. That what it means by st8 edge.

I thought that was straight edge. I am not familiar with st8 edge.

Either way, have a beverage or go for a walk - the important thing is you can just let it run:)

i have been trying this for the last 2 hours and cannot set it up for the life of me.. good idea, but poorly executed. it isn't working. all of my turrets keep getting destroyed by those flying things or the green orbs that purge the map after the 2nd stage. and it takes 30 minutes to set up. or i keep dying for some reason. why don't you post a video or something

Way too complicated for a solution. Sorry. There are easier levels to farm scrap just as quickly. Not hating, I just don't agree with this solution.

Same issue as guy posted above, machine guns turrets would end up dying eventually from being shot at by the flying enemies getting 1-3 shots in every time. Ill try using Flak next if this doesn't work out very well. I am doing this mainly for the emplacement kills.

Ok so I tried out the Advanced Flak Turrets with this method and they worked like a charm when fully maxed, they kill the flying dudes before they stop and shoot. Again im only doing this for the emplacement kills, im in a game right now as im posting this. My HUD reads 34464 Scrap and ive been in game for 203:59 minutes well over 3 hours into it.

For everyone having problems with this solution, I made a video solution of it: Solution for Razputin In Iron Brigade

It takes around 10 minutes to setup and gives you 1500+ scraps per 10 minutes while idling. This solution doesn't work great for emplacement kills however (2 per minute)

Was this method designed to get you easy emplacement kills as well? Because I only got about 60 of those after collecting around 30,000 scrap.

Put them as far out as you possibly can, at the very edge of the map (where the rocks are). For the ones on the docks, but them as close to him, again on the edge, as you can. Key is to put everything on the edges, and then park yourself as far out from him as you can.

I've created a video walkthrough of what I feel is the easiest way to get this achievement, linked below.

Text summary:
I found it easiest to do this on Europe - Refinery. Taking a mine layer emplacement and a collector emplacement, I could very easily get 1400+ scrap and 120+ emplacement kills in 12 minutes. Place 3 mine layers in each of the lower center lanes, with 2 mine layers up on the higher outer lanes, and collector emplacements at each to pick up the scrap for you. It does require effort throughout the mission (as opposed to the other guide strategies suggesting the Vlad level where you can afk), but I feel it goes much faster on the kills and receives almost the same amount of scrap in the same time.

This is a more detailed version of SallyNasty's scrap collecting solution:
Solution for Razputin In Iron Brigade

For this achievement, you need to finish a mission, while wearing the following stuff:
Psi Goggles - Unlocked after 2500 emplacement kills
Raz Sweater - Unlocked after collecting 25.000 scrap

This solution helps with the scrap: after 10 minutes of preparation, it will automatically get you 1500 scraps per 10 minutes. TLDR? Here's a video:

This solution doesn't really work that well for emplacement kills (my average was 2 per minute :/). I used Dr Zleek's solution on Oasis for this one (300+ kills per 15 minute run): Solution for Razputin In Iron Brigade
Since you also collect scrap during these runs, do these emplacement kills first and then get back to this solution to collect the rest of the scrap.

Level
Pacific: Farnsworth (final boss fight)

Loadout
Chassis: Honeychurch
Legs: Whatever you like (I used Fortify)
Guns: Machine guns (fast enough to get the Knobs and enough range to hit Vlad)
Emplacements: Collector, Flak, Repair and Mines

Preparation
- Your Trench, Flaks and Repair station should stay out of Vlad's laser range
- Start with a collector in front of you (between the two green patches)
- Place a collector on the left and right side between the dock and the enemy spawn point
- Shoot the walking enemies that start spawning for some extra scrap
- Place the last two collectors inbetween the other three on the rocky outer ring

Now it is time to get some extra scrap
- Go back to the spawn point and start shooting Vlad in the red spot (you have to get close to acctually hit him)
- Once his health is down, start walking around, since his lightning will try to hit you and collect the scrap not picked up by your collectors
- If the lightning is over, you should have enough scrap to build a Flak and immediatly upgrade it to level 2 (40 + 60 scrap), build and upgrade the flak right in front of the palm trees left of the spawn point, it will take out all flying enemies

- Start upgrading the three collectors closest to the spawen point to their max
- If you run out of scrap, start shooting Vlad's red spots and destroy the first two (when he fires his laser, stay away as far as possible, since its area of effect reaches beyond the laser itself)
- After upgrading the three collectors, build a Repair station at the spawn point, as far away from Vlad as possible (this is where you will stay during the scrap collecting) and repair yourself to 100%
- Now shoot Vlad's last red spot and kill as many of the spawning Knobs as possible. They will probably kill your Flak, but try to keep them away from you Repair station (just stay away from it, as the Knobs first attack your Flaks and then your Trench)

- Rebuild and upgrade your Flak if needed and build and upgrade another one at the right side of the spawn point, in the corner between the sandbags and the rocks
- Now stand next to your repair station, plugin your controller and let the scrap collect. Most scrap comes from the lightning attacks, the damage caused by these attacks is minor and easily repaired by the Repair station.
- If you're standing still, the walking enemies should stay at their spawn point. If they attack you anyway, place a mine layer in front of their spawn point
- The safest way to finish the game and store your precious scrap, is to kill Vlad (quite hard with only the machine guns) or let yourself be killed.

There is a bit of an alternative way to getting this achievement.

First of all, the outfit does not change:
Psi Goggles - Completing the last personal Emplacement Kills challenge
Raz Sweater - Completing the last personal Scrap Collection challenge

You will need to wear both of articles of clothing when completing a mission to get the achievement.

Now the way that I got the achievement was actually from "Loot Boxes" that are dropped randomly by enemies, most often with Champion/Boss-type enemies. You may have noticed that if you replay an earlier mission the contents of the loot boxes will generally be the same. I would recommend that you play Survival Mode instead with three other friends to enjoy it to the fullest. One thing to note though is not everyone will get the same thing from the loot boxes, it is completely random.

For you non-DLC folks: The best setup that I can imagine is have two people with either the highest level "McGarry" or "Karlsson" chassis rocking out snipers/artillery, while the other two have the "Honeychurch" chassis for support capabilities equipped with grenade launchers (with magnet) or machine guns. Now make sure that you have every light turret, dampening pods (collection pods can help if you are playing with less than three people), and sniper and mine layers from the heavy turrets.

You will want to have one person covering each lane (front-center, back-left, and back-right) and one person behind the hospital. The person front-center and behind the hospital should be your sniper/artillery people. They should also be focusing more on upgrading all of the turrets rather than placing it themselves, although one of them can focus on flak turrets.

Each lane should have a mine layer to start off directly infront of the "portals" where the enemy comes out of, after it is fully upgraded you move onto a fully upgraded dampening pod and add a shotgun/machine gun turret. Then just focus on adding more of everything to these lanes. One of the back engineers need to place these items at the front-center lane as well. Flak turrets and sniper turrets should also be placed around the hospital. Sniper turrets need to be able to reach the side portals so that they can take out snipe tuners and help with the Volt Dropper.

Jacobs will be the most annoying enemy! Always focus on them first, they will begin spawning heavily around wave 15.

While all of this is based on luck, if you enjoy this game it is much better to do this than to grind it out on the Farnsworth level. I ended up doing that for an hour and only got half of the challenge done, then when my friend asked me to play survival I ended up getting the achievement shortly after. It took 10 games lasting until wave 10-30 to get both pieces, my friend didn't get any though.

If you need more help with survival, check it out on youtube. I'm not an expert at the game, or at survival so I'm sure they can help you out more than I can.

Also for those unaware: Survival mode gives you better gear as bonuses for completing every five waves. It is the same gear each time you complete the same number of waves, so you want to go as far as you can.

This is composed of the Psi Goggles obtained from completing the Challenge for Emplacement Kills and the Raz Sweater obtained from completing the Challenge for Scrap Collected. These are both Personal Challenges, not Regiment Challenges.

To complete the Emplacement Kills Challenge you'll need 2,500 kills solely from Emplacements. This is easiest farmed on the mission 'Oasis'. Use a Chassis that has two Heavy and two Light turret emplacement slots. The map is made up of four lane ways.

The reasoning behind grinding on this mission is that it has the largest volume of Knobs. They will die in as little as one bullet sometimes. In front of the objective you will want to place six Machine Gun emplacements placed in two rows. This will cover the two lanes in the middle. As for the the outer two lanes you will want to place a Mine Dropper on each.

Mine Droppers are hidden emplacements so Monovisions will walk straight past them. Because of this Knobs will roll straight on the mines and head for the Machine Gun emplacements in the middle. Other enemies will walk over them in groups and wipe themselves out.

There is only one wave in which your emplacements may become overwhelmed if they are not sufficiently upgraded, it involves a lot of Knobs and a lot of Aerials. Be sure to maintain this volume of turrets and resist the urge to shoot. Using this method should net 300 - 350 kills each mission for Emplacements.

To complete the Scrap Collected Challenge you'll need 25,000 Scrap. This is easiest farmed on the last mission of the act 'Pacific' called 'Farnsworth'.

Equip a chassis with two Support Emplacements and some sort of long range weapon to defeat the boss with. Equip a Collection Prong, the higher tier it is the better. Collection Prong emplacements are also a hidden emplacement so Monovisions are oblivious to it. Because your chassis is primarily a Support role, emplacements will be cheaper to buy and upgrade.

Once it starts, defeat the first two forms of the boss straight away but leave it sitting on the last form. During this form the boss will cause lightning storms very frequently. During these lightning storms 100 - 200 scrap is dropped all around the level. Place the Collection Prongs everywhere you think is necessary to cover the entire island you are standing on, upgrade as you wish.

You will be attacked by Monovisions constantly so kill them to boost scrap. When playing in single player it is actually impossible to die, when you lose all your health a quick time event will pop up asking you to tap either , , or to regain health. As long as you do not kill the boss, you can sit here forever. Using this method it is entirely possible to collect 2,000 scrap every ten minutes.

Once both items are unlocked, complete a single mission while wearing them. It is possible to complete the boss mission of the first act 'Europe' in 30 seconds with a good Trench set-up.
