How to unlock the Excelsior! achievement in Iron Man - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement, you need to complete all of the hero objectives like the description says. You do not have to do them in order, but they do have be done on the same difficulty/save
Mission 1: Destroy all of the Stark weapons
*Mission 2: Destroy drones without civilian damage
Mission 3: Defeat US Fighters without harming the pilots
*Mission 4: Protect the warehouse workers
Mission 5: Destroy the Prometheus missiles
Mission 6: Avoid civilian casualties
*Mission 7: Protect the nuclear facility
Mission 8: Avoid harming the destroyer and its crew
Mission 9: Avoid desrupting the city's power supply
*Mission 10: Protect the outlying occupied buildings
*Mission 11: Prevent cannon attacks on civilian targets
Mission 12: Save the tether before the satellite overloads
Mission 13: Destroy the power regulators
*- Indicates a challenging task, recommend full attention and suit upgrades/Special armors
I recommend doing these on easy, and if you fail during the story mode, wait until you finish the game when your suits are fully upgraded, then go back to the Mission Archive and replay it. When you have finished all of the objectives, the achievement will pop once you beat the current mission.

But u can't unlock the hero achievement on easy you must play at least normal for them to count

The other guide is good, but it doesn't mention that there's nowhere in the game to see if you've done these hero objectives for each mission or not.
However, there is a way to determine which ones you've done if you've only ever had one save file.
Each of these 'Hero' objectives has an achievement to go with it, so, as long as your TA gamertag profile is completely up to date (and you are signed in to TA), just view below to see which Hero objectives you are missing. If the achievement is surrounded in green, you don't need the hero objective for the mission. If the surrounding colour is red, you do need the hero objective for that mission:
Mission 1:
The Disarmed achievement in Iron Man worth 25 pointsDestroy stockpiled Stark weapons in the Escape mission
Mission 2:
The City Protector achievement in Iron Man worth 53 pointsDestroy drones without civilian damage in the First Flight mission
Mission 3:
The Eject! achievement in Iron Man worth 37 pointsSpare the US fighter pilots in the Stark Weapons mission
Mission 4:
The Guardian achievement in Iron Man worth 43 pointsProtect warehouse workers in the Maggia Factories mission

If you have all green, it means that you should have popped this achievement, as long as you did them all without starting a new save file. If you have them all green but started a new save file, I can't help you.

The hero objectives are all listed below:
Mission 1: Destroy all of the Stark weapons
Mission 2: Destroy drones without civilian damage
Mission 3: Defeat US Fighters without harming the pilots
Mission 4: Protect the warehouse workers
Mission 5: Destroy the Prometheus missiles
Mission 6: Avoid civilian casualties
Mission 7: Protect the nuclear facility

You have to do the above on the same difficulty and this achievement will unlock. If you need help on a mission see its achievement.
If this achievement is not unlocking for you then go to Mission Archive. If you are over 50 points behind the max then you did not do the hero objective. Replay that mission. Do this for all the ones you are down on.
