Story related and cannot be missed.

You will acquire the "Canadarm" during Chapter 3. It is only playable during this level, once you have completed your mission (to nuke 3 asteroids heading towards Earth - see  Nuke it from orbit for full information) you will have to give it back. The trophy unlocks as soon as you have control of the ship.
