How to unlock the Hoarder achievement in Iron Sky: Invasion - Definitive Guide
Again another somewhat glitchy achievement. The achievement is cumulative until you reach the end of the game. The nature of the game is, say if you collected 400 salvage by the time you get to the end of the story and you reload chapter 3 and only had 200 salvage at that point, you will start chapter 3 with 200 salvage again.
So my advice for this achievement is to destroy everything and make sure you collect all possible salvage. Bear in mind all salvage does self destruct after a little while. Destroy every engine on the meteors and every engine on the Brunhildes as they almost always release salvage for each engine destroyed.
Just a note that this achievement glitched on me. I collected over 600 salvage by the end of "story" yet no unlock (not all at once). So when I went back to upgrade the xerg fighter I collected all possible salvage and it finally unlocked when I had around 440 salvage. So this is glitchy!

Small note, you CAN sell salvage and it still counts.

This is the trophy that you’ll want to focus on throughout the game. Every enemy drops salvage (other than the Walkyr I and II, which drop them occasionally). The salvage can be sold at the 3 space stations and you can use the money to upgrade your ships (see Quantity AND quality and All decked out for more info on this). Following the Roadmap will get you this trophy in between chapter 3 & 4, and you’ll save a grind later on if you follow the tips below:
- As soon as you see/hear the words “Salvage detected”, go and pick up the salvage. It does not stay around forever and will self-destruct after a short time. Remember this rule throughout the game and you will have no problem with this, or any other trophy.
- On ships that have various parts to target, such as Brünnhildes, destroy their engines first. If you destroy the ship immediately, you will only get 1 salvage. However if you destroy their engines, you will get 1 salvage per engine, and on the larger ships you’ll get salvage for destroying their heavy cannons too. The same applies to asteroids, they have several engines and they are easy targets.
- Check your map every so often and try and locate the targets that are moving. If there are squadrons heading to Earth, fast travel to each of them one by one and destroy the engines of the largest ship. This will leave them stranded in space. Do this to every enemy group and then you can take them all out in your own time once they are all stationary. If you don’t, they’ll get to Earth and while this doesn’t have any consequences in the game, you lose out on the salvage and enemy kills.

ATTENTION!!! The achievement is easy to miss, collect the trophies remaining after the downed ships. The number of trophies is written in the corner of the screen, but as soon as you arrive at the base, the counter resets to zero and you cannot see how many trophies you have collected. Therefore, write down the number of trophies.
PS: I was unable to collect 500 during the passage, I had to replay and collect.
