This achievement is won by winning the game only with starting mercs. do not accept the 3rd squad member after the radio tower (Avoid them on the map) and don't recruit Fidel.
I would recommend doing this with Shadow and Raven and make stealth your approach, go slow and don't trigger a firefight.
It can be done in easy mode AND you can assault with rebel's in your squad for a 4 man team without invalidating the cheevo.
