This achievement only unlocks from profiles that display their game and app history (i.e. "Everyone" setting in the profile's privacy settings). If the other player with the viral achievement has their game and app history blocked (a.k.a. private), the Jetpac Refuelled game cannot see if the viral achievement is unlocked by other player and will not unlock the achievement for you.

You will also need the setting where you can see other player's profiles set to the "Everyone" setting. This includes game history and achievements. If this is blocked, the Jetpac Refuelled game cannot see if the viral achievement is unlocked by other player and will not unlock the achievement for you. You can change this from Privacy Settings on Xbox.com or from the console itself. If you're on a child account, you'll need a parent to make this change for you.

Sometimes there are temporary issues with the Xbox network that cause the profile's game history to go private. This will get resolved after the Xbox team fixes the problem at their end.

Solution:

Find someone who already has this achievement and invite them to an Xbox LIVE multiplayer game. You do not need to beat the level or get any points, just have both players "SET READY" by pressing the A button and be in the game for a few seconds with the other player. The achievement unlocks once the game starts.

Start a multiplayer lobby:
Click on "MULTIPLAYER"
Click on "PLAYER MATCH"
Click on "CREATE MATCH"
PUBLIC SLOTS: 1 (recommended; for an invite-only game, set to 0)
DURATION: 20
Click "START" to host the lobby

Once you are in the lobby, invite the other player (from the Xbox Guide ). You and the other player must SET READY by pressing the A button for the game to start.

It is also possible to obtain the Half Mill Man achievement in the same match, but only your score counts towards it. The duration of the match must be set to the highest (20) as you will need more time to get enough points. The other player just needs to remain in the game while connected to Xbox Live.


Note: If you are playing Jetpac Refuelled (included with Rare Replay) on your Xbox One console, open the Xbox Guide by pressing the View and Menu buttons at the same time. You need to do this to accept and/or send game invites when playing an Xbox 360 game on Xbox One.

Just to add, you don't even have to play a complete game to this achievement, it will unlock as soon as you start a game with a player with the achievement.

As a heads up, ensure that the person that has the achievement hasn't set they x360 profile to private. The game checks the players profile to verify the achievement and if the player has set their achievements as private it won't have any way to check (apparently this game won't bother to check into xbox.com).

Noticed this after over an hour of not getting this achievement with my very reserved friend who has his profile as private. After switching to public, achievement unlocked.
