Joe Dever's Lone Wolf Console Edition

I am fairly certain this carries over between playthroughs. I had 1 save in slot one which I got part way through Act 2. I put my shield in a chest with the merchants and continued on. I then reached a battle in which no matter what I did, I was killed.

So I started a new game in save slot 2. I didn't even reach the same section of the game, although I got close and this trophy unlocked upon a Giak kill. This shouldn't require any effort to unlock. Just playing through the game should be enough.
