If you have to revive your partner does it count as a death in Old Game Minus?

No I'm pretty sure you have to die not go down to count as a death but im not 100% sure as I looking for someone to do it with

Note: You have to be somewhere outside before this trophy is obtainable, because all weapons and attacks are disabled whilst inside the Javelin.

Have your friend down themselves somehow, then all you have to do is walk up to them and press .
