While on your ship just use the computer and open the emails that are in the Trash Can icon.

not sure why some1 has given you a thumbs down, unless you get the achievement or them some people are never happy. Thmbs up I doubt I would have stumbled across this

Thanks! I also never would have known to do this! From the achv description I assumed I would have to find journals while playing.

Gonna save getting this achv for a day I need an easy achv to keep my streak alive! thanks thumbs up.

You can do this right at the start of the game after being granted access to the ship's computer. Click on the Trash icon and open all 5 emails you find there, then the trophy will pop.
