My team I used was Kakashi and Sasuke from Naruto because they have a j skill which adds to the lightning attack to deal more damage and we will be stacking that with the Lightning Blade attack to beat the ever loving tar out of the other anime characters and putties I mean venoms...
J SKILLS I used and really helped get perfects and speed up the gold grinding.
We even had the same Ace in the hole :lv 5 when close to an enemy attack ^^

I shall cease fighting: lv 5 when close to an enemy ability power ^^
He must die..by a saiyans hand: lvl 5 health is 50% or higher ability gauge charge ^^

do missions a long the way as you power up to unlock more j skills
You can buy new abilities at the SHOP and by unlocking them from various FREE MISSIONS
To level up abilities you need to and j skills you need to do the upgrade free missions; level up these skills/abilities first so you won't need to grind too much; also once you've leveled up those j skills/abilites then feel free to upgrade to lvl 2 of any other ones so you don't need to use nearly as much grinding to get higher level j skills/abilities that you'll most likely never use.

understanding on upgrades and fighting you should know when to block RB/hold it during their finishers and stuff so you won't take too much damage
Go for 4 X punches and then use Lightning Blade if it hits them then continue the assault of a 5x and lightning blade
If you've got your awakening gauge to half or a bit more; BEFORE you defeat the opponent hit them a few times to stun and then use the finisher; THEY have to be pretty low health to get a finisher bonus
The PERFECTS stack so if you can; TRY to get both but even just one and getting a finisher should get you an S AND the icing on the cake is if you find a mission that you can S rank on that difficulty then you can keep redoing it to get the 10 s ranks for that difficulty.
For the gold achievement; once you reach lvl 100 you can do the defying limits and the lvl 14 of that gives you 24,000 gold
When you get to that point you should def use the ATK Plus that costs 1,000 gold per match to do more damage and feel free to use that whenever as you need to use 100 single use items and spend 1,000,000 gold anyways.

Anyone have any trouble getting this one to unlock after obtaining all the other achievements? I just got the last achievement I needed--100 online PVP battles--and my progress is stuck at 98% with no other achievements left to earn.
Edit: So of course it finally dings 2 minutes after I make this post. I did a couple extra fights and then sat around in the lobby doing emotes for a while.
