If you have a problem with reviving thirty-year-old NES cheats, then this isn't the guide for you.
At the main menu for the game, press the following combination:

You'll hear a crashing sound.
Now start the main game.
As soon as the game starts, pause with

. You'll be warped to the next level. Do this several times until you've passed the end of the game and see the credits signs on screen. Achievement should pop soon after.
