Hang 'em High!

Kill 30 enemies while they're suspended in the air with the grappling hook.

How to unlock the Hang 'em High! achievement in Just Cause 2 - Definitive Guide

To do this simply find a sheltered area in a miltary base then attain a heat level and let the troops come walking in 1 by 1.
You then need to press and hold LB on the soldier and then release LB when it is aimed onto a high area. (Roof of a building, tree, crane, e.t.c) when they are hanging - shoot them until they die.
Rinse and repeat 30 times.

In order to get this achievement you need to tether an enemy to a wall or beam such that he is suspended in mid-air. In my experience it will however also count if he touches the ground. In order to use the tether, hold cn_LB and you will attach to the surface/enemy you were just aiming at. Hover over your second target and release cn_LB.

Using melee attacks to kill the dangling enemy will not count towards this achievement but add the kill to the tally for Solution for Pinata Party In Just Cause 2 instead.

I started and finished this in the City region, there is a highway that goes through the city above you so you simply get a wanted level by shooting a few rounds then it becomes really easy to just chain them to the top.

The points you get towards Pinata Party dont seem to count... at least with me.

I did it first, then went onto the Hang kills and i started at 1, not 5 like you'd expect...

So you did the melee kills first and they were not cumulative with the overall kills while target is suspended? Sounds strange as it did not happen to me but I mixed up the kills and did not complete the melee kills before getting kills with other guns. Might be a slight bug?

Well I remember what you describe not being the case for me. Maybe a recent patch changed it. I will update my solution accordingly. Thank you!

Would you mind confirming that kills with melee do also not start counting after you got the achievement for killing 5 suspended enemies with melee attacks?

I did the Suspend with Grapple + Melee attack (Pinata Party) before i went for Suspend with Grapple + Kill (Hang em High)

Each kill i got for the Melee added to the overal stat of 'Pinata kills' which started at 0 and went to 5, and then it popped.

I then went to get the Suspend + kill ones, thinking i'd be at least 5 in already, but it started at 0 and went to 1 with my first kill.

I can also confirm they don't need to actually be off the ground, so long as they are suspended (i even got some towards this while they were flying in the air towards where i had grappled them ^^)

Attach an enemy to the wall and kill him. Target the wall and hold down then hover the enemy and release. This should attach him to the wall, then proceed with the kill.

Note: The enemy does not have to be suspended in the air to make it count. Simply attaching him to a wall and kill him will do the trick, although the game doesn't register it occasionally.

By now you are probably already familiar with attaching the grappling hook to an enemy, if not then follow this method. Aim at an enemy then press & hold the button, now for this trophy you need to hang an enemy from a high point in order for him to dangle from the grappling hook without touching the floor so aim at the top of a building for example, then let go of the button. Once the enemy is dangling you have to shoot him until you see 'Hang Kill' come up at the top of the screen. Try to get right underneath the object you will try to dangle the enemy from, this will ensure he won’t touch the floor.

I have tried hanging an enemy from the following objects and can confirm they work for the trophy:

- Buildings/Railings
- Lampposts/Signs
- Statues
- Trees
- Literally anything, just try it and see if it works.

There is a very good place to get this achievement: X: 28412 Y: 5704 is the place where it is easiest to get the Wreking ball achievement, just lock yourself in the hangar and cling to the ceiling of your opponents.

You can hang enemies not only from the ceiling, but also from plywood poles (to the lamp). There are many more of them.
