How to unlock the Rico was Here achievement in Just Cause 4 - Definitive Guide

Considering that this info was only posted in a semi-hidden thread I'm gonna post it here.

Credit goes to Mitchell Heinig.

I found a fix for my broken achievements, hopefully it will work for others.

While in game back out and go to xbox settings (with out quitting the game), then go to network settings and go offline, after that go back to the game and maybe do a stunt or mission (that's what I did but you may not have to), then go back into xbox setting, go online and go back into your game and your achievements should hopefully pop like mine did.

Edit: I've completed the game now and had about 50% of the cheevos not unlock when they should have. Going offline, opening the map for the floppy disc icon to show up and then going online again fixed it every single time, right away.

I noticed the cheevo for getting all grappling hook mods hadn't popped for me so I took your advice, keep game open>settings>go offline>back to game and open map to get floppy disc icon>back to settings>go online
Then, the cheevo registered as unlocked but didn't pop on screen like it usually would.
Weird.

I hope the rest of them pop ok for me as there's NO WAY IN HELL I'm starting a new playthrough.

Thanks for your advice and I'll try it again if I have any other cheevos messing up 🙂👍

This got stuck at 96% for me after unlocking the last base game achievement. I had already completed all the DLC. After a minute or two I tried this trick and upon loading back into the game after going back online it immediately popped. So, it is possible to get this to pop from 60/61 though it seems very inconsistent based on other comments.

This worked for me as of September 16 2022.. I had done everything and on the last speed zone the achievement didn't pop. I was stuck at 99%. I started a new game thinking I had to do it all again but then saw this guide. Like he mentioned, I went offline in my new save, I did a sargento mission and went back online and the achievements popped.

Thank you, saved me hours and hours

For the 100% you will need:

*Story line finished.
*All regions liberated.
*All quests finished for Javi, Sargento, Garland. (Javi has that "find the treasure" side quest, Sargento has several training missions, Garland has some "go from A to Z in a set time with certain fast cars" kind of missions)
As far as I know smaller side quests are not needed and only count for Chaos Points. (You sometimes stroll through an area and you get a call someone drives around with fake artifacts, or Black Hand members need a ride)
*All regions found.
*ALL Wingsuit stunts. If you have it, you can use the Sky Striker Wingsuit, sometimes even miss a ring. This game is pretty relaxed on targets.
*ALL drive through stunts. You need a specific car or setup to pass through a loop. Anything from a huge tow truck to a tractor.
*ALL speed stunts. These are not as hard as in the other games of the series. What matters is you use a vehicle. For 90% all helicopters work, for water stunts use either the DaggerShark or the Mugello Pescepada SX. For land most sports cars can do the trick too in spots where the heli does not work.

Try doing any of these stunts whenever you liberated a region because A. Some stunts unlock special cars or boats and B. If you finish the game first and do all of these afterwards this will become one booooooring loooooong grindfest. (Yes. It is at least 12 hours or so for around 450(!) stunts totally combined) as some stunts are not pulled off that easy, like getting a specific car and pass a bridge. From UNDER the bridge.
*Get all blueprints. Some of these unlock while liberating regions, some are story related. You will not get this before finishing the Danger Rising DLC as the items for that DLC count too.
*Get to Chaos level 14 thus unlock all the pilots. For some DLC the counter does not work as the Chaos Meter works on Black Hand items only. (all those in red and black and silver grey)
There are some perfect grinding spots on the map after completing the game.
If the achievement tracker says 95% you will only need the blueprints for Danger Rising which unlock after the final mission of that DLC and this will pop.

Stuck at 96%. Offline trick doesn't work. Transferring save data to different console doesn't work.... Fuck this.

What could solve it: Go to main menu, go offline without leaving the game. Go back online. It should "sync" the game thus unlock all the achievements as it refreshes all stats. I had the same problem with the Danger Rising DLC where the stats for those board courses got stuck at 71% while I had them all done under 20 seconds.

Square Enix is a living drama when it comes to their client.

Step-by-step actions to by blocks: plot, tricks, collecting everything and everyone + place for leveling up.

Plot:
To complete the story, you need to capture areas by completing secondary tasks, but nothing new, most trophies will open as you complete these components. When passing this block, I strongly advise you to print out the map in advance, which is attached below in the tips for the trophy -
“Been Around the World / Around the world (visit all locations)” and take a bright marker in order to mark the locations passed, namely those passed and marked with a green checkmark, since such a symbol guarantees the closure of the area, although the trophy itself only requires finding . I note that it is the above trophy that is largely tied to getting platinum = all locations (80%) + additional missions (10%) + plot (5%) + chaos level 14 (5%);

Tricks:
In this part, unlike the last, the tricks have been significantly simplified, especially with regard to the wingsuit, there should not be any special problems, but I would like to reveal some points in more detail, namely:
- The stunts associated with the character Garland (an overseas director) require passing through a ring of a certain type of transport and most often this transport is located a few steps away, you just need to carefully look at the area on a parachute;
- Tricks that require going above ground can be done using a ball (Metal Gear Solid V). Select the desired vehicle, drive up under the ring, stand on the roof of the vehicle, fix the ball on the roof and quickly press (it may not work the first time). Those stunts that require high speed over water or are located in hard-to-reach places, for them, order an attack helicopter, then fly over, the stunt is counted, and even if you die in the process...
- In order for civilian transport to move more actively in the area of the stunt, it is enough just to capture this area; this point concerns stunts, near which, for some reason, the required transport is not located;
- When performing tricks with a wingsuit, if the rings are under awnings, roofs of gas stations or parking lots, then you can not stand on ceremony, but simply destroy the roof in a way convenient for you and fly through the area with ease.

Collection of anything and everything:
This block, described partially in the “Plot”, is what the entire passage of the game is tied to, because closing all locations (marked with a green tick) opens the lion’s share of trophies, so print the map on A4 sheet, take a bright marker and start marking. There are a lot of locations in the game and it will be problematic to match the ones you missed, especially taking into account the small printed and in-game icons.

Place for pumping:
I independently found a method that gives an average of 20,000 - 30,000 chaos points within a minute, below is a screenshot of the screen with the location. The essence of the boost is to fly to a military base, on an attack helicopter, which should be available in your supplies (request for equipment and weapons), then destroy the chaos objects marked in red, and then begin to destroy ships, which will constantly be reborn and give 2X - a multiple increase in experience 5000 per unit. I haven’t tried the method of moving from base to base, but if you compare the points by comparison, then for one tank of chaos without 2x magnification you get 2500, but at the same time it is limited, you need to move to another location to find a new one, order a helicopter and so on, then it turns out more time consuming than hovering in the sky and shooting at boats until the ammunition runs out.

I also attach a screen recording of my own video: https://youtu.be/fxkr55cGc_Y
Also be extremely careful, because trophies:

-A Whole Army of Chaos / Whole Army of Chaos (level 14);
- Rico's Roughnecks / Rico's Cutthroats (unlocks upon reaching level 14).
are buggy, so make a backup save before receiving!!!

PS Despite the harsh criticism, I really liked the game, easy to learn, plus a nice platinum, if you completed part 3 and it impressed you, then you can safely start your playthrough and...
