I used the Gyrocopter for almost all the races, except for the plane race. Very easy once you get the hang of the gyrocopter.

Absolutely. I didn't even think of using the gyrocopter, and almost all of the races explicitly say "use any vehicle".

It is worth noting that there is an altitude limit on the checkpoints, though. You have to get in low to make some of them count, but the way this gyrocopter accelerates it isn't a problem to slow a bit to dip down then start bookin' again.

I found the toughest race to be #7.
Here's a video I created back in 2007 which I hope will help.
As mik29 mentioned in his solution the gyrocopter is the way to go if you're struggling on land.

This race has pissed me off so freaking bad. I'm totally doing this when I unlock the gyrocopter. Does it fly like the other choppers in the game?

@xMidget Furyx, it's a lot smaller than the other choppers. From memory, I think it's easier to control. :)

Map with the order of each race, if you want to make the achievements in the right sequence:

I had a little difficulty in races # 1 and # 7.

In race # 1 you just need to use the Delta MAH-15 Chimaera helicopter located at Agency 05 [59º 1 'N 18º 1' W] which you will finish easily due to its high speed

In race # 7 just use the Agency Gyrocopter that you don't will face difficulties. In race # 8, which is a boat race, you can use the Agency Speed Boat to finish more quickly but for that you must request it far from the province of Rio Negro since it is not possible to contact the Agency in this region.

Hi. For race 7 the Gyrocopter doesn't work for me. The race never begins. Did you do anything specific?

For the race to start, you must place the Gyrocopter against the ground (to trick the game, as it is a land vehicle race) on the start mark, this done the start counter will be launched. That's what I did, I don't remember anything special anymore.

Scattered around the map of San Espirito you will see racing flag icons. At each icon, you will find a person with an arrow above their head. Go up to them, and press to begin their race. Take your vehicle, and go to the starting line marked by the red marker on the map. When the race begins, you will be given a set amount of seconds to reach the next checkpoint. When you arrive, you will be given more time, and you need to travel to the next checkpoint. Continue on until you reach the finish. Once all 9 races have been completed (see "Champion of Race" 1-9), this achievement will unlock.
