How to unlock the Level Headed achievement in JUST DANCE 2015 - Definitive Guide
This will be a grind. In order to level up in the World Dance Floor, you have to get a higher score than the other people in your lobby. At the end of the song, for each person you beat, you will gain one level. So, in effect, you need to beat 2000 people to reach level 2000. The same person can be counted multiple times as long as you beat them on different songs. Obviously, getting into full lobbies is your best bet, so it's better to play at night and on the weekend when there are more people playing. Sadly, the lobbies cap at 8, and Ubisoft's servers don't seem smart enough to try to maintain full lobbies.
But, here is the lazy way I did most of it. The chair trick still somewhat works so here's the method. You'll need a chair, or some other tall piece of furniture and a jacket.
1. Hang the jacket on the chair.
2. Start the World Dance Floor, and wait till a song is in progress.
3. During the song, raise your hand so that the game recognizes you. If it doesn't see the chair, pick up the chair so the game believes it's part of your body. Now put the chair down once it recognizes it as part of you.
4. Duck behind the chair and back away. If done correctly, the game will believe the chair is a person and continue judging it as such.
5. Wait till a little bit into the next song to see if the game recognizes the chair as a person again. If not, try to get it recognized again by using the above steps.
6. Now that your chair is a dancer, it will rack up some points, beating anybody who is idling in your lobby. Try to get into lobbies that contain accounts from store demos. Their gamertags are something like "MSFT Lounge 12345" or something generic like that. A lot of the time, those just idle so your chair can easily outdance them.
7. Check on it every few hours to make sure that it's still running and your chair is still dancing.
Just remember that getting a tie does not count as beating a person. Hence why the chair is needed to be recognized as a person so that what little points it gets will count as beating the people who idle and get 0 points. Plus, the chair dancer stop the XBOX from going to sleep since it thinks someone is playing. If you're not using your XBOX One for anything else, I recommend you always have it doing this. Also, if you want, you can do this with your 360 at the same time to. Just connect your 360 to your XB1, snap TV, and then try to get both Kinects to recognize the chair as a dancer.
A good way to rack up levels is to start this during the day when you wake up, and then turn off your XB1 before you go to bed to let it rest.
If you're trying to get all achievements in the game though, you'll need to reach level 5000! Yeah. I hate these achievements too.

Any idea if online rank transfers between 360 and one version?

Sadly not. So if you want to get all achievements in both, you'll have to reach level 5000 twice.

You can do all 2000 levels by yourself. It can be annoying to set up, but follow this method:
1.) Have 1 main account, 1 secondary account and 6 new dummy accounts. You can make as many accounts on the One that you want so long as you have 1 gold account linked to your console.
2.) Add/follow all the accounts to your secondary account. Sign in to all of your accounts.
3.) Load up the game with your secondary account and continue into world dance floor. Try to get into a small or empty lobby. Once in, go to the party screen and invite a dummy account. Quickly back to the dashboard and go to profiles and switch to the profile that was invited. Once switched, click the invite by holding the dash button or by going to your activity feed. It should load the new account into the game. Quickly start the game and go into world dance floor. You should still see your secondary account. Either join world dance or join your secondary profile. This method works 9/10 times for me. It should be easier with less actual people playing.
4.) Rinse and repeat the method. Go to party screen and invite the next dummy. Keep doing this until you get all accounts with your main account being the last to join. Sometimes you may want to only run 6 dummies and a main because a random might join and ruin your lobby.
5.) Once your account is in with the rest of your dummies, simply set up a dummy. This part can be tedious if you have a hard time getting the one to read a chair with sheets. It took trial and error to get the right positioning for it to stay. Once the dummy remains in the lobby, your main profile will be the only account scoring, granting 6-7 levels a song. I can confirm I did this twice. Once from 1-750 and again from 750-2000. If you lose connection to the server, take your main account and search for your dummies again. For some reason, I can still get back in with my dummies if I get kicked from world dance. Once you turn off your console, all accounts will go offline and you'll have to do this all over again.
Hope this helps. It's not easy at first to set up, but once you figure it all out, it's a cake walk. Good luck!

Somehow using this method not only was my game data erased but I lost my online level back to level 1

There seems to be some bad intel out there about this achievement and how it ties into the I Want It All achievement. You do not have to reach level 5000 for either achievement! This particular achievement requires you reach level 2000.
To say getting this achievement is a grind is an understatement. Trying to use a chair method is not very productive. I tried fooling around with that solution. The Kinect kept dropping the "player" after a song or two. Additionally since Just Dance 2015 was the first to automatically incorporate leg movement into the scoring, it actually earned a zero score for several songs. Since you have to actually beat another player, I gave up this method after an hour.
This is one that it is best just to grind out. Decide early if you want to dedicate your time since you can no longer 100% the game. Even if you beat two players per song, you are going to have to dance 1,000 songs. At four minutes per song you are looking at a time commitment of 67 hours minimum.
Now here's the part that really sucks...The online community is almost completely dead. I found some time pockets which were better than others (all Pacific time)....Friday 6-9pm, Saturday morning 7-10AM, Saturday night 6-9pm, and Sunday morning 7-10AM. Other than these slots, you will be lucky to find one other player.
If you find five players online, jump in. Hopefully you will be paired with the group of three which will allow you to get two levels per match if you win. The matchmaking system seems to keep the groups fairly even so I would not advise bailing out of group in search of picking up one extra player. When it gets to seven players, it tends to split 3, 2, and 2. I would only go group searching if I was a single player. Some people are trying to use the chair bot method. They tend to score zeros so even if you do a few moves you will beat them. If you manage to find a group of three or more players you can beat, cancel your plans and take advantage of it.
I can five star the songs. However if you can't, download the phone app. The leg movements won't count making the game much easier. Their are still a few out there who are playing in earnest. You will spot them easily. If you manage to find a party that sticks together, do everything in your power to preserve it. Song Votes will be your greatest enemy because you tend to lose half your group when song chosen is something they don't like. As a result, I usually avoided voting to get people the song they want so they stuck around. Also if you are playing, try to only beat a player by the minimum possible. I suspect a lot of the players still around are small children (or really bad dancers). If you blow them away with a five star, they tend to abandon your party.
Good luck if you try to take this on! I just finished it this morning after about six months.
