The later games should be continuously running tournaments. So simply stick on the dance floor for 5 tournaments or spread them out over the week. There's no score or rank requirement. You just have to participate.

don't need to play but avoid multiple X in a row or you may quit due to inactivity

I am currently sitting at 13 tournaments played and stuck at 80%. No idea what to do to get this last one to trigger.

The World Dance Floor is accessed from the top of the home screen, and consists of an ongoing online dance battle against all other players around the world. Tournaments consist of three songs each, and cycle endlessly (i.e. as soon as one tournament ends, the next immediately starts).
For the purposes of this achievement, you need to finish five tournaments. This does NOT mean you need to play through all three songs of all tournaments. For example, when you enter World Dance Floor, there's a good change you will enter in the middle of a tournament. This is fine, because all that matters is that you play until you see the tournament results tallied up on screen. So, if you really wanted to minimize your time in this mode, you could jump in, see which song of three it's on, then back out and rejoin when it's in the middle of the final song and just finish it up to get credit towards this achievement.
Also worth noting is that your performance has no bearing on this achievement, so you don't even need to actually dance to get credit.
