How to unlock the Perfectionist - Gold achievement in Just Dance 3 - Definitive Guide
Fortunately though, I can confirm that this achievement can be unlocked while playing with the "Short Song" option selected from the Settings Menu.
This makes any given song much shorter, making it slightly easier.
Find a song that you feel comfortable scoring well, and count out how many scoring moves are in the song. From here, you can determine how many "Goods" you can get and still have 90% Perfects. (For example, I got my achievement on "Everybody Dance Now". I counted out 71 moves, so I knew I had to miss 7 or fewer Perfects for the achievement to unlock)
Remember though, any "Oks" and the achievement is forfeit.
nice right?! :)
good luck!!
After trying several songs and missing one or two moves inexplicably (I.E., repetitive moves that are all of the sudden "ok" after being "perfect" every other time), I decided to try "Party Rock" and I got it the first time.
I normally don't get too excited after popping hard achievements, but this one warranted a guttural "F**K YEAH!!!", after I finally got it.
I think why this song works better than some of the others, is that there are more exaggerated moves, wherein your arms are spread out and more clearly seen. Some way easier songs like "Are You Gonna Go My Way" have moves where your arms are placed in front of your body, making it hard for the Kinect to pick up.
This is how I finally got it when I wasn't even trying for it.
I was using the three chair and me method on Halloween to try to get 4 different styles. I had myself set to EASY.
The chairs I used filled most of their screen and I was the pumpkin. I simply danced okay, as it is a simple song and the game gave me a great mark or better for all moves. Since there are 4 players the game is a lot more gracious with the scoring and has a harder time seeing errors as everyone is crowded together.
You need to play a song almost perfectly, gaining at least a Good rating for every move. The choice of song is largely personal, since you will do better on the song that matches your personal style of dance and/or music.
The important thing to remember is that Just Dance does not really track your body. It only tracks your right hand, the one holding the Move Controller. This is represented onscreen as the highlighted hand of the dancer you are following. You need to focus on that hand and make sure that the moves mirror the dancers exactly. Don’t worry too much about moving your legs or body with the dancer, but I do find it helpful to move both arms to keep the rhythm of the song better.
Use the pictograms to your advantage as well. Once you have played a song several times, the pictograms will mean more, and they can help you remember the order of the moves and show you what is coming up next. Playing the song a few times in a row will definitely help with remembering what is coming up next, a critical lifeline, since being late on a single move will mean restarting and trying again.
The timing of your moves is critical, so make sure that the system is properly calibrated, and go back to and change the calibration to suit your needs. Calibration is found in the Extras Menu, then Sound, and finally Sound Calibration.
If you do mess up, there is a restart button in the pause menu, but it may be worthwhile to play the song all the way through so you know all of the problem areas.
