You can choose 'short songs' in the options menu to make things go quicker. I did a combo of about 150 long and 50 short. You don't even have to dance really, you can just surf the net or whatever as long as the kinect picks up some movement. However you may want to dance the songs for practice towards the other achievements.

I dont think playing Simon Says or Unlimited Shuffle count. Several days ago I got the hundred song achievement and today alone I played about 3 hours in Simon Says mode and I have let me young son play Unlimited Shuffle for a couple hours. This doesnt count the 20+ songs I played in song mode working toward the 3 star achievement and I still havent got it.

I agree with Craze Kiler, I stuck a manican in front of my Kinect and used my turbo controller to keep selection next and went to bed. When I woke up I had the achievement for the 1 hour unlimited shuffle but none for playing x amount of songs even though it played out for 6 hours
