How to unlock the Ouch, my hip! achievement in Just Die Already - Definitive Guide
The hazard goals are the red bucket list items.
There wasn’t a whole lot of information out there on how to complete some of the bucket list tasks, so I thought I would make a list and provide a few tips where I can. I completed the game over a free to play weekend, so I don’t have it anymore. Everything is from memory so I’m sure I will be missing a few things, but hopefully this will help.
A few things to take note of…
-Some of the challenges require a bit of leg work. I will provide a text guide but there are video guides out there for some of the more complex tasks that I’d recommend.
-While everything can be done solo, some tasks are easier with a partner, especially the ones involving the removal of specific limbs. A partner can just shoot them off rather than relying on RNG.
-Some items I will mention were awarded for completing certain bucket list tasks. If you don’t have the item available, check to see if it can be purchased from the blue vending machine, or complete other objectives and try again later.
-The propeller is the easiest way to navigate to higher locations, but in order to get the propeller you have to go to the top of the skyscraper downtown. To get up there you’ll have to use the jetpack (unlocked by going to space) or a fire extinguisher (found around the map, the easiest one is in the bbq shop next to the retirement home).
There are 12 Hazard goals.
Sick Moves Grandpa- Slip a bunch. I don’t remember how many times, it’s simple enough, just slip on puddles or oil around the city.
Floating Shock- Get shocked by water, Just spawn the electric wand from the vending machine, stand in water and zap it. I used the empty fish tank in the retirement home.
Look Swole- Take some steroids. Steroids can be found in some of the convenience stores.
Off With Their Head- Lose your head and no other limbs. This will probably happen naturally, could also use a co-op partner.
Chain Reactor- Cause a chain reaction of explosives. In the construction area there is a wheelbarrow full of C4. Drop 4 or 5 near each other then throw another C4 and explode them all. You can also probably just throw a C4 or grenade into the trench full of mines.
Get Slapped by a Millennial- I got this by chance when I went underneath the bleachers in the sports area; I’m not exactly sure how you trigger it.
Sticky Situation- Get 50 hazards stuck to you. The easiest way is to jump through windows, or run through the bushes around the yards where the kids are having a water balloon fight. These are the houses past the dump truck that is behind the retirement home. There’s a big wall and gate, but you can enter through the bushes.
Climbin’ in Ma’ Bones- Climb 1000 meters on ladders The fastest way is to find a ladder grab with the right bumper, hold the left stick up and spam the LB- don’t do it too fast you want it to grab and let go so your body goes up and down, this will count as climbing.
Not the Bees- Get stung. In the park across the street from the graveyard is a treehouse with a bee hive. Climb up the ladder and you will get stung.
Is it a Little Chilly in Here- Get frozen into an ice block. This may count when you eat a bunch of popsicles, but I got it when I went to space and froze out there.
Jaywalker- Get hit by a car. Just stand in the street and get hit.
Thing From the Deep- Get eaten by the shark. Just jump in the water and wait until the shark eats you.
