Just like with the base game, there are diamonds hidden in the hub area and in each level. Additionally, the Easy and Hard modes of each level have different diamond amounts and locations. Thankfully the final level has none, but you effectively need to find all diamonds across all eight levels, and then all the diamonds in the hub area.
I couldn't find any information anywhere about diamond locations, so I wrote up a text guide for the locations of them all, and it can be found HERE. Credit to shiithalfeR for helping me find the last few I was missing. Worth mentioning here is that there is never a diamond during any of the "rushed" sections of levels, such as sliding sections, sections where water/lava are rising and you need to hurry, etc. All diamonds are located in calm, readily explorable areas, where there is no pressure to move on.
Note: If you miss any diamonds and need to replay a level to get them, be aware that you do NOT need to complete the level again for it to save. As soon as you pick it up, the game saves. You can then quit back to the hub to save time.
