"Planets" are the challenges that become available once you unlock different characters. Each character has three challenges, and completing them while reaching the end of a run will enlighten the planet. You can check your challenge progress during a run by pressing RT. The challenge won't count unless you reach the end of the run so be sure to help your teammates make it to the end!
