How to unlock the Return to Sender achievement in Kena: Bridge of Spirits - Definitive Guide
Warp to the Village Docks warp point, hang a left around the corner and you will find a Corrupt Chest you can replay as much as you like.
Clear out everyone but the Mage, whittle it down a bit and pop your shield right as you are about to be hit.
You have to finish the mage off with the return.

Be Warned - all Combat trophies should be considered MISSABLE!
There are only a handful of mages throughout the game. Once you’ve completed it there is no place for them to respawn, the only option you have is to start a new game. If I’m wrong PLEASE say something in the comments!!
EDIT: Awesome Luakidh has pointed out there’s a corrupt chest in the village docks that houses a Mage, making it completely repeatable.
That being said, it’s not the hardest trophy to obtain, this is all about timing. You need to master the art of the perfect parry.
Mages are floating monsters that fire red balls of energy and heal themselves if you take too long damaging them. The energy balls they fire are slow moving and follow you around. Wait for the bomb to get close - like REAL close before activating your pulse. You should see a short animation if you get it right and the ball will head back to the mage. Will still need a few tries in order to hit the mage properly.

The Corrupt Chest by the Village Docks warp point has a Mage and all corrupt chests can be replayed. Just got it there.
Probably also some of the combat trials have them.

Missable.
This is going to be one of the more annoying combat-related trophies to get. There aren't many Mages in the game, so you'll have very limited opportunities to try for this. The first one you come across will be at the entrance of the Lantern Cave in the Forest, then the last one will be in one of the rifts before you fight Toshi. They're one-legged floating enemies that spawn minions, heal themselves, and shoot bombs at you. Overpowered bastards. To get this trophy, you first need to get the Mage's health down pretty low. Their bombs do more damage to you than they do to the Mage itself, so you may need to do this a few times to actually kill them.
When you're ready, wait for them to spawn their minions (they will always do this if there are none alive). Kill 2 and keep one alive so he doesn't spawn anymore. When he shoots his bomb at you, you need to kite the bomb back to him. The issue is that when you get too close to him, he'll sometimes teleport away, sending you on a goose chase. Try to get behind him if you can, so he's between you and the bomb, so the bomb hits him instead of you. Again, this will probably take a few bombs, depending on how low you got him down earlier and depending on if he decided to try and heal himself. As long as the last hit he takes before dying is his own bomb, the trophy will unlock.

The first battle with the magician will take place at the end of the Forgotten Forest location. When a magician throws a red ball at you, you must parry it with a shield . The ball will fly towards the magician and cause damage to him. This is exactly how you need to make the final blow to the magician.

PS: It is generally better to hit this mob only by parrying its balls, since they cause a lot of damage to it. The magician knows how to heal (during healing it glows green), at this moment it is worth throwing decay on him , which will knock down the frailty.

If you missed this trophy on the Mage boss, then he will appear several times in the form of a regular mob, and you can also get

Version 2.3 If you beat the game and didn’t get the reset, you can find the magician in a repeating chest, not far from the “Village Pier” travel stone.
