Counter Attacks need to make up 20% of all your attacks. To be safe simply beat the entire game using counters. its annoying but worth it. To counter hold a and press x just as an enemy attacks. Then hit either y or b to finish them. Im unsure if throwing them into something and then finishing them counts. You will get the trait after beating the final boss

TIPS
-play on easy
-If you cant counter because large groups of opponets keep attacking at the same time its ok to kill some with normal attacks. Also ok to use on bosses.
