To perform an Ultra, Your target has to be in his blink red bar and you must start a combo before the ultra will work.

(Thanks to KillerinstinctOnline.net for the button inputs for this) (I will put the action, as if you have your buttons switched) (These are also assuming you are on the left side of your opponent)

(Edited for clarification)
When it says charge, it means to hold that direction for a second or two then do the other button input. (Example: Sabrewulf requires you to hold left for a second or two, then move right and press Light Kick)

I've done all these characters ultras multiple times and it still hasn't popped or unlocked for me? Any ideas? Also on a side note, does anyone know why??? Oh why??? when unlocking cheevos on the xbone, the achievements don't "pop" but if you go to achievements menu its unlocked.

Were you on the right side when you did Maya? As I just did it on the left side and it was Charge back then Forward FK, and multiple websites say the same thing.

Also, lets take Fulgores ultra. Do I have to go cn_right, then stick back to centre then cn_down and then cn_downright+cn_A. Or can I cn_right, quarter circle down into cn_down and then move into the cn_downright position?

I'm having serious problems with this achievement, mainly because the inputs simply don't work when they're supposed to. I find it hard to figure out a simply combo to link into the ultra for most characters. When I think I do a combo and then input the ultra nothing ever happens.

I think the solution above could benefit from having a (even just one for each character) simply combo input you can link into, to help save shit players like myself from having to play endless matches with nothing working.

Maya is weird... none of the above worked for me. After a bunch of tries using both methods i combined the two and got it using

tried over 50 times to get kim-wu's ultra and failed. I get the first combo then when trying to input the ultra combo the match just ends. what am I doing wrong?

What are Tusk's auto doubles? I can only seem to get the fierce punch to work, but it causes knock down I think is preventing the ultra to drop.

Man, this is tough for a guy like me who is new to the game. It seems it has to be done in a real match, it doesn't seem to count when I do it in practice - correct?

And I agree with a comment made above, a short example of a combo could be nice, right now I'm pretty much just pressing wild and hoping for something to happen, lol.

Combo = Combination. Like in boxing. A punch with the left hand followed by one with the right. That's a combo.

Connect movement and attacks and you got a combo. You can use practice mode to get familiar with the moves and get the timing done.

So a 2 hit combo is enough - that's basically what I was wondering, it only says triple and up in the corner, so I thought 2 hits wasn't enough.

I did around 5 different ultra's in practice mode, that did not count so it has to be done in an actual match, could be worth mentioning. Alright I'm ready to do this.

Since people have struggled with Maya's in the past an easy way to get it is to hold towards the opponents and press RT (swings her 2 blades) immediately once the second blade hits move the stick in the opposite direction from them and hit RT and you should get the ultra every time the don't block it :)

This is an addition to the other solution. An easy way to start a combo into an ultra is performing an Auto double.

A very simple auto double would be jumping at your opponent and hitting with a fierce kick followed by a medium kick. While the auto double is performed you need to input the ultra combo buttons. Combos are already posted on the other solution.

You can also do medium kick followed by light kick.

All ultras can be performed in 2 player mode with 2 controllers.
