How to unlock the That's What I Call Teamwork! achievement in Kinect Adventures - Definitive Guide

This secret achievement is called:

That's What I Call Teamwork! for 50 gamerscore.

I have confirmed that you can get this by playing coop on all the free play levels and it took me roughly about 2 hours to complete.

You just have to complete the level coop, you do not have to get a platinum or gold. You most likely will obtain a medal of some kind in coop anyway though.

I could not see anyway to track which ones you have already done so make sure you either write them down or start at the very beginning and work your way through everyone of them.

Credit to FreedMania for confirming you can do all these online with another player also. Details in the comments section of this solution.

If you find this solution useful please don't forget to vote positve. Thank you and good luck!

Do you know if this works with the other person online or if you must have 2 people locally?

I believe that you can be either locally or online coop but not confirmed, which would make sense. If someone can please comment and confirm I will update my solution....

I just did the coop online and got it, easiest to just select the first one for each game type. And hit continue to go right into the next game. Once you finish all of that game type it puts you into the selection screen and you can start on the next one.

You just have to play all freeplay levels in coop Epsilon. I did add in the solution that you have to complete each level but you don't have to get a platinum in each one.

***SPOILER***
Although the more platinum medals you get now with a friend will make it easier to get the other secret achievement.

What if you happened to start a level solo and finish it co-op? Would that count toward this achievement?

Also only interested in one thing - Does it have to be from start to finish as co-op. As my son will play with me, but he tends to run off and drop out then join back in at some point.

I played coop start to finish on each one. If someone can confirm your question Lavindathar I will post and give credit.

The chance of me getting my son to actually play them all without running off when something else interests him is gonna be a hard one.

Online partner maybe!

does anyone know if you (the person signed in) actually have to be playing to get this? or can someone else be playing and get it? Because the kinect had a hard time reconizing me and made me the generic guy and i do believe me and my neice went through the whole game but the achievement didnt pop. In other words does your avatar have to be on the screen?

From when I was playing I had the exact same problem Osiris. Your avatar has to be the one signed in and playing the level to get the credit for playing the level coop....

I did everything with my sister-in-law in co-op and no achievement?! WTF? :/ How i can check now which we didn't? we did everything! Did she needed to be logged in or not? And if she get lost by kinect during event (Join IN appeared for 1 sec) is this not counting then as a co op? :/

i'm havin the same problem Celt PL. I bombed through every level in free play with a friend and got gold or higher in each one and the achievement didn't pop. :( We both even went back and checked every level to see if we did em and they were all done. I think the other person has to stay on the screen the whole time for it to count I guess :/

I just got this and Kinect lost me a few times throughout the run-through so I don't think that's your problem... That'd have the same effect as if it lost the second player, surely?

Yes guy's you do have to stay within the screen and not get disconnected. You also have to use the avatar that you are wanting the achievement for....

By WolfVelocity on 03 Jan 2011 18:05
That's not true I got disconnected several times tonight and I got the achievement no problem. Just to let y'all know. Just be sure player one stays signed in. You can leave to go smoke or whatever you want. You will get the achievement.

Osiris, I got the all levels platinum achievement without using my avatar. I was in my game (it said Weezleram's game in the bottom left corner of the main screen) but I was using the generic avatar the whole time because it hadn't recognized me. I assume if that achievement was fine without recognizing me then this one would too.

This is probably a stupid question but the online menu in this game is awful. How come whenever I go to play an online match with a random, they always get to choose which event we do? My wife is bored of playing it with me now and I only need most of the Bubble ones, plus 1 or 2 others. I really need to be able to select the level myself.

I need to get a cardboard cutout person or something to just stand there in the spot so I can go for this ach. I guess I can create a boosting session for this...so maybe I will do that last...once i make myself get the other ach.

ALRIGHT. I just played from the very first level of 20K Leaks to the end level of Space Pop as a mixture of online co-op and local co-op, and I STILL HAVEN'T GOT IT. I made sure I was signed in as a xbox live profile (Andean007), and if i had any doubts if someone say dropped out or the game paused, I redid that level. So every level was perfect straight run-through no doubts no hassles. Any idea's as to why I did not get it?

I think if it doesn't pop after completing all the levels in co-op you have to erase your save data. I'm gonna try that now and repost if it pops afterwards. if anyone wants to run through all the games add me!

Can I make it in online multiplayer (Xbox Live Mode)???

By MasterKamillo on 27 Dec 2011 22:43
You're best off doing this in 1 run through, with one other player; local or online. I did this with McStripsOfBacon and it took 2 and a half hours. We did everything start to finish. This was after I had to delete my save because it didn't unlock despite having the game finished in co-op TWICE.
Note: If you do this local, don't have any player leave the game screen, this will ensure that you don't prevent it from unlocking

xLILESx <== Dude, thankyou! I actually came here looking for that precise nugget of information!

Nobody loves me, see. And I wasn't going to spend the time building an imaginary man if it didn't work.

Now, to the attic, for materials to make a scarecrow... MacGuyver away!!!

Do you need two profiles signed in or just two people playing?
0
0
By napoearth on 05 Jan 2012 19:02
Just two people playing, no need to have another profile signed in.

And if you don't have access to another player or a mannequin, you can trick it with other things. I wrapped a jacket around a pedestal fan, and stuck a paper plate on top of it for a head. :D
Just remember whatever you use needs to at least have arms. You need to be able to manipulate the "arms" so it can wave to join in, serve during Rallyball, and grab the bars at the beginning of Reflex Ridge.

cheevo finally popped, i had some trouble getting this online and ended up doing it with a jacket over a lamp. is it possible that you have to be in control during online play for the credit to count for each level?

This is possible to do by yourself. I heard about the pillow trick, but I could never get it to work. You'll have to trick the kinect sensor into thinking there is another person there.

I used a bar stool and a candle stick on top of it with a blanket thrown over top. You can use just about anything. Stack things up on a chair. Use mic stand...etc

This works fine for all levels except reflex ridge. On reflex ridge you have to start by putting your arms out and pulling backwards and is obviously not easy to do with a bar stool. So for these levels start them by yourself and right after you start move your object into view by ducking down behind it. The kinect will think that is you. Then move to the side and it will connect you as the second player.

You do not need to have two players from start to finish. I finished every level with two players just to be sure. The kinect sometimes loses the object or you, this does not matter because you can join in the middle of the level and it will still count. Also does not have to be done in one sitting.

Worked perfectly. My playmate was a carbox, a broom and a blanket. "We" got even platinum on Space Pop. It took circa 4 hours...

Works perfectly. I did this with 2 stacked barstools a jacket and a pillow on top. I wanted to add, that you do not have to be 2 people all the time. If it recognizes 2 people in one game thats enough. Afterwards you can do whatever you want and let you dummy finish the game up.

It worked! I stacked four big ikea boxes and as soon as I threw cardigan over them Kinect recognized it as a blonde girl... :D
If Kinect lost the "teammate" I took the cardigan and threw it back on the boxes to get her appear again. To start reflex ridge I grabbed the handles and then pulled the cardigan shoulders up to imitate my teammate grabbing the handles.

My favorite picture Kinect took while doing this is the one labeled "How low can you go?" where I stand next to the boxes reading a book which is on top of the stack.

I managed 4 platinum medals on rally ball with my chair person.

I actually did manage to use my chair person for reflex ridge. Once a player puts both hands on their bars they stay there until the countdown. I held the sleeves of my jacket I was using for my chair person up and managed to swing them so the game though my "second player" swung their arms.

As WolfVelocity suggests, this can be done in around 2 minutes from scratch if you have a partner with you. if you've already made some, progress, it will take less time. If you want to also get the Platinom Nom Nom achievement, I'd recommend trying to get platinum medals on all of the freeplay levels together with your partner, so that once you're done obtaining this achievement, you won't have that many to improve on. If you can get platinum medals on all activities with your partner, then you'll obtain this achievement and Platinom Nom Nom, requiring no later score improvement. Playing together with a partner makes it much easier to get platinum medals in the more difficult Space Pop, Rally Ball, and 20,000 Leaks where you need to cover different parts of the screen quickly.

The description is a bit deceptive, you just need to play all 42 levels in 2-player mode, regardless of score. Must be done in Free Play.
