How to unlock the Super Marathon achievement in Kinect Joy Ride - Definitive Guide

This is 10 hours of game time, which means you will need 10 hours worth of race, battle, stunt, drift, and/or trick activity.

The trick to this is to simply just sit in front of Kinect while in a race. The car shouldn't move (as long as you don't move too much) and you will rack up a lot of time. I personally just sat and did work.

Another great solution (thanks to Scrapdaddy) is to have a cardboard cut out or construct something Kinect will mistaken for a person. Once you have done that, use your arms to start the race then move out of the way without having the Kinect detect you. This should allow you to go do a lot of other things like groceries, movies, etc. This did work for me but I could not use the technique since I have two kittens. They both ruined it multiple times.

The level you pick is entirely up to you. If you can't keep yourself from driving then the last level is the best since it is decked out with several turns.

Great tip for the final level, I have been sitting watching movies, and raking up 15-20 mins a time, , was only getting 5-10 mins out of lighthouse loop. if I can get the time achievements out of the way, ill probably just trade this in.

Big thumbs up from me, some proper genius thinking here. I have my car sat stationary just off to the side of the track while I watch movies on the laptop. I imagine when I get up tomoorow the 10 hours will be ready to roll out its delicious gamerscore!

I play joyride sitting down so : I had a broom sticking out of my jacket which was over the back of a chair zipped up. A Pair of pants lying on the chair like legs. I stuck my hat on top of the broom bristles and got the game going.

For the first run my car kept going in circles and ended up finishing the race, but the photos were awesome.

For the second run the Fire Alarm went off in my apartment building and I had to evacuate, turning the xbox off and taking my jacket as I went, it's winter here.

As we evacuated my wife saw me dismantle my dummy and said "Darn Kittens"

(turns out to be a false alarm)

Now I have my car sitting stationary on the track and the clock is counting. It's a beautiful thing.
I wish I could vote for this solution twice it's so fun,.

I just have to laugh at these! The extent people will go to just to get an achievement! How about just playing the game and having fun??? It really is quite easy to get 10 hours in if you just play the single player campaign! music

Used a bar stool, with a jacket over a box, and an Angry Bird stuffed toy as the head. I called him Angry Dave... Got a few pics with me hiding behind him while attempting to get the car stuck... classic! Found best method was to walk away, and the car just sat there and the driver went to sleep. Great suggestion!

I’m having trouble not just going automatically. The idea is to never start to begin with? Seems rough. Any tips would be appreciated.

Perpalicious is right. I used a vacume cleaner on top of a bar stool, then draped a blanket over it and put a mask over the top, the whole thing was the same hieght as me then I just stood behind it using my arms around the sides to start the game, then i went to bed, when I woke up the 5 hour achievement had popped, so I restarted the process waited in one race pinned against a wall untill the time was 300 mins then finished the race, the achievement popped after the race was over. hope this is usefull.

ok I'll try that, these two achievements are a pain in the arse, I've only got a couple more smash games to play to get 30 and get 800,000 points in one game. and still aint even got the 5 hours achievement

Heh...I'm trying this now. I have a portrait of Liz Taylor propped up on a barstool, and my car is just sitting in the middle of the road. Stoopid Kinect.

I hung a jumpsuit from a floor lamp. I moved the arms to start the event and then left the room but watched from around a corner. The car came to a stop after a while and then I could see my Avatar driver stretch back and after about two minutes his head tipped back and he fell asleep! I came back the next morning and he was still asleep but as soon as I moved the lamp, he woke up and started driving again. I finished the race with 420 minutes on the clock.
