The buddy characters are located in the circles you see at the beginning of the adventure (once they are colored, it means they have been activated).
In order to win this achievement, you have to be patient and play all 15 chapters of the game approximately 2 or 3 times each to unlock all buddies.
To make it it easy, go to my stuff, the open game progression and check which of such buddy circles are still colorless - those are the ones left, in order to win this cheevo.
