This, like the platinum goal, will easily happen over the course of time. You just need to play through a level multiple times to score enough points to max out the progress bar and unlock a buddy.

Your answer is vague and is just copied and pasted through guide multi times is not really helpful, how many times and when does the buddy lock etc
