How to unlock the dataDyne achievement in Kinect Sports Rivals - Definitive Guide

The Perfect Dark Challenge pack consists of 3 Target Shooting events ranging from 1-3 Difficulty. You must beat the opponent as well as complete an extra goal to "prove" yourself, those goals are as follows.

Match 1 - Hit 3 Bulls eyes (Must get the XP reward to indicate a Bulls eye)
Match 2 - Steal a Sequence Finisher From your opponent (This one was the biggest pain for me, I ended up using the Gun Jammer to help buy the time needed to steal his target)
Match 3 - Activate the turret 3 times (This one is on the hardest difficulty however the additional challenge is by far the easiest of them)

After finishing the last match it should unlock, all said and done it should take less then an hour quite easily.

The second match is killing me. At least five times now I have won the match thinking I have done it only for it to say I failed. I too used the gun jammer, and am 100% sure I took out the opponents "Sequence finisher". If there were three numbered targets, I took out their number three. If there were four, I took out their four. I tried stealing only this final one, I tried taking out others, I tried taking them all out. Succeeded once or twice believe it or not. No dice. I don't know what more I can do!

so it says steal a "target sequence" and you called it a "sequence finisher". does that mean if there is a 1,2,3,4, then i have to hit their 4? does it require them to have started the sequence? i know i stole a few of their numbered targets, but still failed the challenge.

also maybe i misunderstood the training, but but it seemed to say you have to pull your finger as though you were squeezing a trigger, however i automatically shoot anytime i point at the target, which makes lining up bullseyes tricky, but i still got the first challenge right away.

The shooting does happen automatically that is correct, no need to pull your trigger finger. The best trick for the bulls eyes is just to move for the middle as fast as possible, using this method it shoots the bulls eye more times then not. I am not 100% sure if it indeed must be the final one in the sequence but that ended up being the one I stole from him. The 2nd match seems insanely harder then the final match and for me really came down to the Gun Jammer as it was somewhat frustrating.

These are DLC achievements so you have to either buy them individually, I believe for $2.99 Each or the pack for $9.99 (much better option for a cheaper price). When checking your profile it appears that you have not unlocked any of the DLC achievements as of yet. They are indeed separate from Challenges and do award Gamer Score.

I'm still unclear about the nuance for event 2, but I "think" what got it for me was one of the sequences where the last target only shows up after the second to last target is successfully shot. For me, that final target was over the barrier and able to be stolen so I recognized the pattern on what was coming, ignored my targets, and kept my cross-hairs right where his target would spawn. I watched him take out each target in sequence and then right when the final one appeared, I was already in position to steal.

In this case, gun jamming would hinder your attempt since you want the opponent to get all the other targets leading up to the last one.

If you are having trouble understanding the 2nd challenge or wondering why you aren't completing it, here is what you need to do.

You already know that if you shoot a sequence incorrectly you lose your other sequence targets for that board of targets. For example, if you shoot a "2" before you shoot a "1", all of the numbered targets will disappear. What you need to do is shoot one of your opponent's targets with a number on it that they aren't ready to shoot yet. For example, you could shoot their "3" before they have shot their "2". Doing this will get you a sequence steal, and you should see at least two targets disappear from their side (the one you shot+the ones remaining in the sequence). This is what the challenge is asking.

When I completed mine, I had to sacrifice one of my sequences in order to get the steal in time, and I would recommend doing the same as you don't get the chance to steal a sequence from your opponent very often. If you are shooting well enough, though, the lost points shouldn't be a problem at all.

After this, simply win the round and complete the third challenge and the achievement will be yours.
