Defeated the Banana in a short calorie challenge

How to unlock the Get energetic achievement in Kinect Sports - Definitive Guide

There is a very easy way to get all the DLC achievements without breaking sweat :

1. Stand in front of your Kinect sensor as normal
2. Hold a curtain or sheet in front of you so that the bottom of it touches the floor
3. Move the sheet sideways, dragging the bottom of it from left to right (and back again!) along the floor

You will get between 0.30 - 0.50 kcals/second by doing this.. !

After failing this simple calorie challenge two times in a row. I figured I'll try this and it worked well. Thanks for the guide.

Just like the description says, play and "win" against the Banana character of the Calorie Challenge DLC.

The Banana Challenge is 10 minutes with a goal of burning 63 calories. The games/event vary each time you try this, but you may end up doing the same event twice in one challenge (I did the Javelin twice on my attempt).

Don't be alarmed if you only have a few calories after the first 1-2 events, the game starts you off slow and then picks up the intensity.

This is definitely a little more difficult than the Celery Challenge, but it's doable on your first attempt. I was at 61.5 calories after 7:45, 75 calories at 9:15, and 86.91 after the last event which finished around 10:25.

The achievement pops AFTER you complete the designated time, NOT when you pass the caloric goal.

EDIT: Also, just doing the challenge for 10 minutes does NOT guarantee you'll burn 63 calories. You need to reach 63+ calories to pop the achievement.

On my first attempt, it gave me Target Kick THREE times, which is rather harsh when you're trying to burn calories!

Ugh, that is far from ideal. I found with Target Kick that it was best if I just went as fast as possible and tried to eliminate as many targets as I could in the 60 seconds. But you're absolutely right in that some of the minigames.....Body Ball, Super Striker to name a couple others.....are just not very suitable for calorie burning.

This is one of those set you up for failure achievements... as it is next to impossible to get the right combonation of events to obtain 63 calories being burned, that coupled with the timer always running while you are playing an event or not... it simply makes it very impossible to obtain!

To "defeat" a rival, you will need to burn their approximate calorie value in the given time. Playing the game naturally, you will generally have no shot of actually completing this. For instance, games like Javelin may come up which if you actually run and throw the javelin a few times will only net you 4-5 calories burned. However, if you ignore the mini-game and just jump back and forth, waving your arms about like a lunatic, you can easily get 15-20. You'll generally need to average about 10 calories per mini-game to complete the challenge.

The amount burned will vary depending on the mini-game, even when using the same motion. The best motion to both burn the most calories and not tire yourself out too badly is similar to "knee-ups" in step arobics from EA Sports Active 2. Step at a diagonal to the right and drive your left knee up while swinging your arms down, then do the same thing left and repeat. If the game is soccer or volleyball, jump side to side and wave your arms in a windmill fashion for best results. Doing this, you'll likely be done with the calorie amount at about 60-70% of the time, which will then allow you to pull up a stool and sit down for the remaining time, getting your wind back for the other rivals, if going for any of the multiple rival achievements.

Best Solution if you still struggle to make it in time!

I do recommend using a big towel, it is easy that way.
Move sideways and wave the towel. Not really necessary to move sideways so much but I do think it speeds it up a bit. What really speeds it up is if you wave harder with the towel, I mean wafe faster. Make it so it reach the floor and just wave very fast to increase the calories.

When you randomly get the table tennis were you can score points between 1,2,3. Just dont serve and stand still with the towel in your hand. (More safer way is to actually not choose left or right hand as you can make calories run from there. This way you wont accidently serve).

You can reach your target here without ending the game as the timer never starts until you serve but your calories goes up.

I also noticed it should also work with one of the bowling events. (Not the one were they charge at you).

Remember you need to finish the event before the achievement unlocks.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do this trick, the in game timer will be wrong and you will go overtime and have to play many extra events so you dont really need to get all calories in one go using this trick as you for example would still have to do all that time after. I had to play up to 36 minutes vs the pizza when I did use this trick to catch up a bit.
