To earn a smash, hit a three-point target and the ball will loop back to you ready to be smashed. Each time you land a smash, a group of targets will break, opening the way to another three-point target. Keep the smash sequence going by always reaching those three-point targets and this achievement will soon be yours.

To start off, to get a smash you need to hit a 3 point icon as the achievement icon shows.
This is a medium difficulty achievement. You will notice that when you hit one of the 1 point icons, it will change to a 2, then if you hit the same again, it will change to a 3. If you hit it once after this, it will be a smash opportunity, this is what you want.
What you need to do to be able to get this achievement is start off by serving the ball to the left side. Now the real key is to get two of these 3 point icons ready and then hit one of them, smash it into the next one (destroying some of the bricks next to it, hopefully revealing another 3 point icon), and repeat the smashing into the 3 point bricks created by your smashes. If you get the hang of this, you should also easily be able to get the TARGET TEASER achievement.
Might be a little confusing and take a couple tries but hope it helps. If it did, give it a thumbs up!

I just earned this achievement and I found something out that the above guides don't mention. You don't have to have several threes ready at once, you can get a 3 with a single 2 on the board and it makes it very simple.
If you hit the 2 with a smash it automatically turns into another smash skipping the 3 step all together.
So with that you can get a 3 with a two on the board then hit the three, smash into the 2(netting you 2 more 2s in the process), then smash into one of the resulting 2s.
the only hitch here is that the smashed 2 makes a blank hole so you have to be careful not to go through while aiming for one of the other 2s, but it isn't too difficult to avoid if you know it is coming.

This can be acquired whilst gaining the 'Target Teaser' achievement. You need to hit the same target three times in order to earn yourself a smash. This isn't as difficult as it sounds, it just requires you to build up your smash shots. Once you've acquired one smash, use it to uncover a '3' and two '2's. From there, hit the '3' and attempt to smash both '2's and then the '3's underneath. If you don't quite manage it, try again, until you've built up a minimum of three 'smash' shots. Then, unleash them, one after the other to alternating sides of the table to ensure they hit - putting power behind your swing to make sure it's counted as a 'smash' and not just a return.
