How to unlock the Kilometer King achievement in Kinect Sports - Definitive Guide
Run as you would normally, and rest in the rest zones.
When/If you get a bit tired hit the round Xbox button in the middle - THIS WILL PAUSE THE GAME!!!
When you are suitably recovered you can hit the round Xbox button again to resume from where you were.
Keep going until you reach 1000m.
Thanks for the comment and thumbs up. :-)
This achievement is a test of pure fitness, and you’ll really have to get your knees high to keep your avatar moving fast enough for each checkpoint. Start running just before the end of each rest zone to ensure that you don’t drop the pace.
After 3 attempts at running as fast as I could, I stumbled at the 880 mark. I went back and lifted my knees high and ran moderatly fast, and got around 1060.
With this method it shouldn't take you long, simply running as fast as you can will just knacker you out though.
Ensure that your Kinect sensor is placed in a position where it can pick up the movement of your knees, otherwise this achievement can be made a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Remember that while you're timed, you don't actually need to run quickly; bear in mind that the game registers speed by how high your knees are, so the higher you can raise your knees the better. You're timed here, so it's simply a measure of speed and endurance. The green 'rest' zones while giving you a slight time bonus will slow you down significantly if you choose to stop running here. One very useful tip to remember is that you can keep your controller handy and just hit the Xbox button to pause the game if you feel like you need to take a break, and you can then come back to it when you're feeling up to it. Stretch beforehand, don't over-exert yourself, and please don't do yourself an injury!
