to unlock this you need to make a block at the net, the icon for blocking is a pair of hands. when you see it you need to jump and make a similar movement you would to perform a spike, but you need to react very quickly, if you don't you'll almost always miss, it took me four or five attempts to nail it.
This doesn't seem to happen on the easier diffculties, but if you turn it up to proffesional you will get plenty of chances to make a block.

Not true. Happens all the time even on Beginner.

i played tonnes of games on beginner without seeing it. thanks for the negative vote though.

Fairly simple:
Whenever you see the purple circle with hand shapes in it (look like goalie gloves) throw your hands above your head, and jump if necessary.

Once again, another extremely easy achievement to obtain and one that can either be done against a computer-controlled rival on any difficulty or against a friend locally or online. At some point during the match, a ball will be played over the net. If your avatar is at the front, by the net, when the pink two-handed prompt appears over the net, jump to block the ball from going over. If you time it right, the achievement will be yours.
