How to unlock the Roll Them Over achievement in Kinect Sports - Definitive Guide

Start a single player game against an Amateur computer opponent. Try to aim the ball far enough away from your opponent when you return it to cause them to roll. Smashing towards the opposite corner than them when you have the opportunity works well.

This doesn't seem to work well against the other difficulty levels as Beginner won't try to reach the ball, and Pro and Champion are usually fast/smart enough to close the distance without rolling.

Did you use top spin on all your shots?

What is the key to hitting it to the opposite side of the table? This is what I am struggling with :(

Played a few games against Pro. What I did was return it easy an wait for smash opportunities and hit it away from him! Will probably take a few tries.

You should definitely expect to play a few rounds before successfully getting this. Spin on the ball isn't really relevant since you're most likely to get them to roll on a smash. As far as aiming the ball, it's pretty much like using a real paddle, except it's more about arm movement than the angle of your "paddle." If you want it to go to the right, swing from the left across to the right, and vice versa for the left.

I'm sure it's possible at other difficulty levels, I just found it the easiest against the Amateur.

Did this on Professional. Alternate your shots between left and right. Got the guy to roll 4 times in one game. You don't have to win the game for this achievement to unlock.

Well, I tried like 2 times on Amatuer with no real results. Then I tried on Professional once and got two pretty quickly my first try so I was convinced that was easier. I was wrong. I played on Pro a dozen times, getting 1 roll mostly, sometimes 0 even. I decided to give Amatuer another go, and then it clicked with me. I got EIGHT rolls in one game, included two on one shot. What worked for me: if I had the CPU stumbling to the right on a smash oppurtunity, I would smash back to the right, as they would get up and try to get back to center but smashing back to the right got them really off balance. If they stumbled REALLY far to the right, then i'd smash left, as the distance they needed to cover was too great.

Thanks for the guide! I neglected to listen at first but I trusted your judgment and got it. Thumbs up.

You can make the game go on forever by letting your opponent get to 10 points with you. Then just take turns winning because the game will be in a deuce state and you need to win 2 more rounds to finish. This is helpful if you get to 10 points and still need 1 roll.

Note: just like in real life, standing closer to the table allows for wider angles. Once I stepped as close as the Kinect allowed me, I got 5 rolls in my first attempt.

Lionpants- thanks for your comment, this made it much easier since I had a game with 2 rolls by the time I hit 10 points.

Ok maybe I don't really understand what "roll" means. What indication is there that you got a "roll" . Seems to me that should be part of the explanation.

Runner7922- Your opponent will dive for the ball, and tumble while trying to hit it. You'll know it when you see it.
Here is a guide on Youtube (not mine) that shows it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDg0MskAZDU

This is another achievement that sounds a lot more difficult than it actually is. Simply return three balls to the opposite corner of the table to which you returned it last. For example; if you’ve just played it to the left, return it to the far right. This will cause the computer to roll in an attempt to reach it. These rolls do not have to be consecutive, as long as all three are achieved during a single match. This can either be done against a computer-controled rival on any difficulty or against a friend locally or online.
