On the first map, after you play with your cub a bit and teach it tricks, your cub will wander off screen and bring back either a ball or rubber pig. After you learn the basics of throwing it at targets and playing fetch, You will be introduced to your first contest called "Piggy Skittles." This game involves you to take a rubber pig and knock down targets in three rounds. The game is very easy and you do not have to score a lot of points for a gold medal.

This should come pretty naturally in Woodland Glade. There are 5 events here and they are all easy to get a gold medal. Just be sure you get gold the first time you play a contest and this will unlock.
