How to unlock the Treasure Hunter achievement in Kinectimals - Definitive Guide

This achievement can be missed. It is story based but if you have kids, you could run into this.

This is the scenario that will cause you not to get this achievement. While I was playing, my daughter wanted to play. So she signed into my game with her cat and played the game. Well, she finished and unlocked the maps in the game where I was not. So by her playing in my game and unlocking the different parts of the maps, it does not count as me doing it. You can't rewind or play that challenge for it to accept that you have that part of the map unlocked either, it won't work.

So you will have to start a new game and run through the entire game again. Here is something I figured out though. The achievement just wants the maps unlocked. Well, that means you don't have to do any of the challenges. So when asked if you want to go play a challenge, just say no. You can get through the game a lot faster by cutting out out all those challenges.

If you get bored with the same toys, go buy some at the shop or play a couple challenges to unlock some new ones just to mix it up.

While playing through the game, you will unlock six sections of the map that has 5 challenges in each section. The achievement will pop when you unlock the final challenge in the sixth section.

This doesn't make sense to me. It states "in your own game" quite clearly and encourages you to switch players within 'your' game so it's not logical to prevent an achievement. I'm planning on finishing tonight and have a strong feeling that I found a map piece as my dummy tag, I guess we'll soon find out!

You're right, it does and I did. However, by my daughter finishing the game and collecting the map piece and not me, no achievement.

Hey, thank you very much. Not for the fact that you and you only have to complete the map but for the fact that you need to actually unlock all the challenges. On other websites, they say you have to collect the other 5 pieces of the map. I was worried for a moment, but thanks. ^^

Thanks for the heads up Zero! I remember you were talking about this not unlocking in your game.

Story related so you can't miss it. A piece of the map is awarded each time you compete an area. There's 5 in total and the achievement will pop as soon as you unlock the 5th and final contest (in Celestial Glacier).

Well, this achievement is missable as I finished the game and this achievement never popped.

I'm thinking it has to do with the fact my daughter was playing on my game and finished it up instead of me so it didn't count. Even going back to redo the challenges does not help you pop this achievement after you have passed that point.

So my suggestion is to make sure only you play in your game until you finish all the boards yourself.

Story related and cannot be missed. This unlocks after you collect the last piece of the pirate map. There are 5 pieces total and you get them all automatically as you complete the areas.
