The skills/abilities of the hero and units do not affect this trophy; they can be used. Spells that you use on the global map before the battle (morale, etc.) can be used.

To summarize, you cannot use a book of magic and items that allow the hero to automatically cast a spell at the beginning of the battle. For example, a Staff that casts the “Weakness” spell on all enemies, etc. After arranging the units, you click “start battle” and at this moment the spell animation and a text message about the cast spell occur.
