Alright so I got this achievement by accident in conjunction with another achievement. I was trying to pick pocket a man and he saw me, reported to the guards and I got arrested. I was put in jail for five days (I did also tackle the man with cn_LT when he first tried to run and tell a guard)
This gave me a stint of five days in prison. No problem except I had a debuff that lasted for like 36 in game hours.
It is also possible to get the below achievement whilst in jail, assuming you are already in starvation mode

I just completed a ten day stretch in prison after a sport of burglary got.... out of hand. Took ages for the wheel to turn enough to finish my sentence and to add insult to injury the achievement didn’t pop. Bugged?

Save, punch a guard, serve jail time, load, repeat.

Go to any town and start attacking the villagers, then surrender when the guards show up when prompted by pressing

. This will earn you enough days in jail. I suggest saving before you do this and then reload once you get it, as you don't want to hurt your reputation in the village.
