How to unlock the Robber Baron achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Definitive Guide

Here are the steps I went through to do this quest. There are some different parts where you can choose different things to do, so I'm not sure how else it can pan out but this is what I did to complete this quest and get the achievement-

First of all, I had done the quest going hunting with Hans Capon. Sometime afterwards I noticed that there was a quest marker (the star shaped one) on the west side of Rattay, where Hans stays. I went and visited him and this triggered another quest with him where we snuck out and had a drunken good time at the bathhouse in Rattay.

The next part here did not have a quest marker, but I saw Hans Capon's horse outside the tavern in Rattay one day so I went and talked to him. He said his uncle was mad at the 'excitement' we'd caused in the earlier quest at the bathhouse. I followed him to get some respectable clothes and then we went to talk to his uncle (Sir Hanish). After talking to Sir Hanish he tasked us with finding a relative of Sir Bernard's who was causing trouble in the area.

I immediately left with Sir Bernard and the rest of the soldiers and we ended up at the camp where I'd been hunting with Hans Capon earlier. From here you have two objectives to go search. I went to the northern farm and persuaded a woman there to show me where the bandit camp was. I am not sure what the southern objective would've been, as it said it was failed once I found the camp. I would guess either objective leads to the camp, but I don't know for sure.

I went back to Bernard and he insisted we go to the camp and attack. So I followed the soldiers and there was a confrontation and a pretty big skirmish. After we killed all the bandits and Wolfin, their leader, Sir Bernard told me to ride back to Rattay and report to Hanish. I did this, the quest completed and the achievement unlocked.

One other tip I'll give is there is a ton of loot on the bandits in the camp, and also an open chest there. Since I couldn't carry all the loot on me and my horse, I stored the rest in the chest and it was still there days later when I came back. There were also some good swords and armor on the bandits so be sure to loot them all!

This quest glitched out on me when I tried to attack the camp with Sir Bernard. The soldiers and I would kill everyone, but then the soldiers would just mill about shouting battle cries and I couldn't interact with anyone. This is apparently a fairly common glitch. In order to complete this quest, I waited until my charisma was higher and convinced Bernard to let me parley with Wolflin. Once I succeeded at convincing Bernard, I just went to Wolflin's camp unarmed and wearing the clothes that Bernard gave me and I was able to convince Wolflin to leave. After this, I talked with Bernard then went to Sir Hanush to complete the quest. This method means that you can't loot all the dead bandits for awesome stuff, but at least you get the achievement if you're suffering from this glitch that seems to have survived all patches to date.

It was at least a couple of days, but I do not remember for sure. I believe I had done a couple other side quests and explored a bit, but I hadn't done the main quest to find Reeky yet. I had already finished the main quest in Neuhof about the attack so you may have to have this finished so Bernard is back in Rattay.

I'm also not sure if Hans being at the tavern is just a random daily event (or maybe a weekend event?), but it was in the middle of the afternoon when I saw his horse. You could maybe go talk to Hans in his quarters too if you don't see him at the tavern (even though there's no quest marker); I feel like running into him in the tavern was completely random. Hope this can help!

I am not able to talk to Hans. I've done the two Quests and i am now on the Main Quest: Nest of Vipers.

Okies, you can only get Clothes Make the Man, which leads to Robber Barron, when you've reached the main quest All That Glisters.

I just wanted to pop back in and say I did not have to get to the All That Glisters quest to do this achievement; I was still on the 'Ginger in a Pickle' or 'Mysterious Ways' main quest. Although with all the updates the game has had since I got the achievement maybe it bugged it in a different way. I got this 'Robber Baron' achievement fine, but I'm unable to talk to Ginger and finish the achievement for rescuing him from bandits.

Just to add to the above solution.

I wanted to give additional information as I wasted hours trying to get this quest, following Hans capon around town needlesly. I had completed Hans previous quest with the wench and was trying to get this quest to appear. as the above solution makes it seem as this is an unmarked quest onl obtainable by talking to Hans. However that is incorrect.

This quest only appears once you have completed the main quest Questions and Answers.

Once that is complete look at the map of Rattay and you will see the Icon for the Quest Giver which is Hans. Follow the symbol and interact with Hans.

This is a marked quest but requires progression in the main campaign to appear.

A few tips for the quest.

Once you have scouted the camp and returned to Bernard you will lead your allies to the bandits. As Bernard is talking make a save, poison our weapon with Bane or standard poison and drink an Aqua Vitalis

When the battle starts seek out the main commander (you can tell as he has fancy armour). The bane will kill him instantly, I used a heavy axe and stabbed to draw blood. This killed him in one shot and ended the battle instantly without risking Hans death.

In my game Hans got KO'd and my guys routed. I was mistakenly fighting the random bandits, not the main baddie... Regardless, the quest didn't break or fail. I was able to pop the achievement by reporting the outcome to Hanush back in Rattay. Good enough for me! smile

Complete Robber Baron quest.

That's it, I feel like it's an easy one to fail. What I did was let Wolflin go, just leave the loot, and persuade him by telling him Radzig was in Rattay.

In order to start this questline, you must have completed the main quest "The Prey". After you finish the first quest from Lord Hans Capon, you need to complete the main quest "Questions and Answers" to get the next one in line. There's a small side quest called "Clothes Make the Man" that will happen if you decide to get dressed up in his clothes, if you don't and just decide to go as is, it'll just skip over it. It doesn't make a difference.

You'll end up getting the side quest "Robber Baron". There's nothing tricky about this quest or anything you have to watch out for. Just work through it until you complete it.

The quest is given by Jan Ptacek. It is a logical continuation of the chain associated with it. To get it, you need:

1) Complete the quest to hunt together with him and save him from the Cumans (Perhaps we will save him in any case, but I’m not sure)

2) After the hunt (Possibly in a few days, but I can’t say for sure, because I showed up to him after many days.) visit him and ask about his health , to which he will offer to drink and begin the quest. The important point is that during execution we must complete everything - indulge all his whims and run wherever he orders.

3) Now comes the fun part. Finding the first two quests does not seem difficult, because... in the first case, his guardian sends us there, and in the second, he is marked on the map in the form of a star. I came across “The Robber Baron” by accident - I just met Ian in the city and he said that Sir Hanush wanted to talk to us about the recent incident in the baths. I don’t see any point in describing the quest in detail, I’ll just clarify that in my case I received a trophy after learning the location of the camp from a peasant woman, and when I arrived at the camp itself I held negotiations, the conditions of which were: leave all the loot, leave the territory and pay a ransom. To get to the negotiations themselves, you need to convince the centurion to let you in, then put on the colors of his family and remove the equipped weapon. After completing the negotiations, the quest will be completed and you will receive the trophy.

PS Everything written above is my result of receiving the trophy. Some points may be controversial and have other solutions. Especially regarding the last part, where I negotiated without bloodshed. Most likely, having solved the matter with a weapon, the trophy will not disappear anywhere.

You can do without negotiations - simply by killing the entire camp (hard, but doable). And to lie to the Sotnik that he refused negotiations - the achievement will still be counted.

For successful negotiations, it is necessary that the level of eloquence be ≥14, and charm – ≥16.

To get a trophy, it is not necessary to negotiate; everything can be resolved by force of arms. We report to the centurion that we have found a camp, he will ask about the number, we answer about 10, the centurion says that there are as many of them as there are of us. Then we go with the whole crowd to the camp, Jan Ptacek gives a speech and the battle begins. The trophy falls either after the death of the last enemy or after reporting to Pan Hanush.

I don’t know if this incident arose only for me, or if someone else had it, BUT - this quest did not appear in my dialogues with the gentleman, or on the map, exactly until I completed the “Questions” quest and answers" to the main storyline (+ respectively treatment of pestilence in Mrhoedy). So just in case anyone encounters this, don’t panic in advance.

All of the above tasks were completed, but the quest never appeared. I succeeded after I slept and found the gentleman in my chambers, it was about 7 in the morning, Ian said it was early and I came a little later because... Ganush is still sleeping, he came a little later and the quest started.
