How to unlock the You had one job! achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Definitive Guide

During the mission: Casting Lots
Run after the tailors wife, and tell her about the plan:
- Johanka sent me to you
- I swear i'll give it all back

To continue the mission, you will need 1300 groschen.
Head to the tavern and find Ambrose. (save here, if you don't want to complete this mission, as the achievement will force you to fail it)
(The trick here is to select the dialogue options with the highest amount of drinks (marked with *) )
- You and I should have a drink toghether!
- It's safer since we drove the bandits out of Pribyslavitz.
* Brave Henry of Skalitz!
- There were brigands on the rampage
- Captain bernard and his men rode after them
* Drink to Bernard and make fun of him
- Sigismund's army burned down Skalitz
* I saved the people in the area...
This ends with you being unconscious for a few hours.

When you wake up, find Ambrose and talk to him:
- What did we get up to yesterday?
- Persuade Ambrose

This won't work if your drinking skill is too high (maybe about 10).
Every perk to getting drunk faster from beer will help (wine drinker for example), but make sure to have a drinking skill as low as possible.

You just have to follow the quest tasks until you can say "Let's drink." to the tailor. Now just take the most possible amount of glasses shown right next to the dialogue options.

If there is the option to steel the money from the tailor after getting a time skip, your drinking skill is to high. In my case I had to do this on my hardcore file because of that. So don't waste time like me to try different options of dialogue.

I hope this saves some time for you guys. If you have something to add, please comment me and help me making this better. If you wish for the dialogue options, I can add them, but Solobrus22 did a great job already (even if there are some options missing, maybe because he got drunk before using them)

I was able to get it with drinking skill about 10 and half (Skills I have were Beer Bibber, True Slav and Loose Tongue.). With this I get achievement when I went through the dialog with correct order.

Correct order for me was:
- You and I should have a drink together! (obviously, first and only option :-))
- You're going all the way to Kuttenberg?
- (Second option with two beers icon - it is something with Zikmund)
- About Merhojed...
- Let's dring to the Merhojed folk!
- It's safer since we drove the bandits out of Pribyslavitz
- Brave Henry of Skalitz!
- There were brigands on the rampage.
- (Third option with Bernard - no beer icon)
- (Second option, it is about making fun from Bernard - three beers icon)

After this, Henry will start talking about Ambrose wife, time will be skipped and achievement unlocked.

Will it work at 14? I don't want to go through another playthrough.

For those of us with drinking skill above 10:

Can you get a little bit drunk before starting the quest, so that the extra drinking during the quest knocks you out?

Just tried it, can't get it to work.

I am drinking level 18, and can't fail this quest, even when I pick THREE drinks for each dialogue option.

Okay, like I thought. You have to get drunk from the dialogue options only... so damn stupid. Everybody who played regularly should have an drinking skill from 10 or above thanks to the save method. I mean, until before this last DLC it was a nice mechanic and never seemed hard or unfair. But to add this achievement NOW is just bad. I would have saved much more often with sleeping then using potions if I had known that....

I have to say: I like "A woman's lot". The quest with Theresa is just awesome and is filling a hole which was wide open since the beginning of the game I think. I mean: we all have much more possibilities to interact with her even after the little romance. It feels much more like a real relationship now, and I like that.... but the other 2/3 of this DLC is just a bad compilation of achievements you have to prepare in a whole playthrough to not miss them...

Loaded up a hardcore save where my drinking skill was only 5 - and was able to get this achievement without any issues.

After the first 3 drinks, Henry complains to himself that he should be more careful. He doesn't do this if your drinking skill is high.

After 3 more, Henry says that he thinks he overdid it. Again, this is completely missing if drinking skill is high.

I had 3 more, and Henry started automatically talking about Ambrose's wife, and told himself he was supposed to do something about dice, but doesn't remember.

Henry then blacked out and the achievement unlocked immediately after waking up.

None of this occurs at drinking level 18. Ambrose passes out before you and you cannot earn this achievement. What an awful awful decision by the devs, indeed.

why would anyone reset their perks and choose beer bibber which makes beer 50% weaker the opposite of what you want

I was able to finish this with Drinking lvl 12. I just reset my perks by the potion. Took the perk True Slav and Beer Bibber and drink one Moonshine in advance (I have waited until drunkedness increased).

I was sure I missed this achievement because I had a drinking level of 13, but with the right perks (true slav, loose tongue, wine bibber) and being drunk before starting the conversation did the trick, thanks guys!

Like I said: wine drinker as a perk is the one you want because of beer is stronger then.

My first playthough my drinking level max and I couldn't unlock this.

There is speculation on what the max level of drinking can be to unlock this achievement the major consensus appears to suggest level of 10 or more will make this impossible.

Try to reach this point in the game with your drink skill as low as possible, which means avoiding potions with alcohol such as saviour schnapps etc, save in a bed instead. When I reached this point in the game it was just 3 so I assumed I would get this straight away without any issues, however I didn't it still took 4 attempts to get right.

Other solutions suggest simply choosing the answer with three tankards, however after much tinkering ad failure I also believe the order in which you choose the dialogue is important.

Choose the following options:
1, Brigands are on the rampage, choose the option about Bernard which has no tankards next to it - This then brings up a new dialogue choice with 3 tankards
2, It's safer since we drove the bandits out of Pribyslavitz
3 Sigismund burned down.

At this point you should fall unconscious. You will wake in a random location and the achievement will unlock, I believe where I was going wrong before was on the Brigands option I was just selecting the 2 tankard option and didn't realise there was another chance to get three tankards.

Please comment with what your drink levels are and I will update this, as I mentioned earlier 10-12 seems to be the consensus.

There is also 1 further chance of a triple tankard, when you have exhausted all dialogue a new one pops up about destiny and fate, choose the option I make my own, you then get a final chance for 3 tankards. However I had already fallen unconscious at this point.

I had drinking level 15, beer bibber perk. Once Ambrose and I were about 12 tankards deep, he fell asleep on the table while my alcohol meter was not even halfway full. So I can confirm this achievement is impossible to obtain with high drinking level

Just as a heads up for people like me that have a too high drinking skill:
I had lvl 15 drinking and beer bibber and it didnt even fill up to half just like Elevated Moves also experienced.
I tried a bit of stuff and the best i could come up with was drinking a lethean water (which ironically raised my drinking to lvl 16), pick the true slav (get drunk faster) and wine bibber (get drunk twice from beer) perks and also let my drunkness grow to about 3/4th of the bar before starting to drink with ambrose but nothing helped, either way i would simply at best sit in front of ambrose with a fully filled drunk bar but not sent into oblivion.

MISSABLE

Talk with Johanka after the speech in the town square to get the side mission "Casting Lots". Then go talk with the Tailor's wife and swear to her that you'll give everything back that you win. You'll find Ambrose at the Tavern near the Monastery (I suggest saving here, so you can reload later and get the better outcome for the Angel of Mercy trophy).

Talk to him and tell him you should drink together. If you're drinking skill is too high, you'll end up missing out on this as you won't get drunk enough. If possible, have your drinking skill at 9 or lower. Having the perk Wine Bibber helps as well. When you drink with him, choose these dialogue options:

  • It's safer since we drove the bandits out of Pribyslavtiz
  • Brave Henry of Skalitz
  • There were brigands on the rampage.
  • Captain Bernard and his men rode out after them.
  • Drink to Bernard and make fun of him.
  • Sigismund's army burned down Skalitz.
  • I saved the people in the area...

The trophy has nothing to do with the level of drunkenness! I came in with a drinking level of 11 and everything worked out! As I understand it, these quests need to be completed after the end of the storyline, and in some detail, so that the answers with the Badge of three mugs of beer appear)) I stupidly chose them in each branch, after which Henry passes out, and Ambrose refuses to talk to him.

Successful intoxication during a drinking session is signaled by Henry's comments after every hundred grams. If after a drink he starts commenting that he has too much to drink, then we will achieve the trophy. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

I agree with mcs1mka , the trophy is clearly tied to the level of drunkenness and perks. I'll tell you my situation. 15 drunkenness, a bunch of perks, a plot point right after the monastery. There was no way I could get drunk. I reset the perks, put them in a different order and got drunk on zyuzya in advance, right up to the moment before cutting off, it still didn’t work.
Without despair, I found an old save in which the quest Pestilence had already been completed, this is important for starting Yohanka’s quest. There I quickly killed a maniac and now I’m ready to get drunk again.
This save has 10 drunkenness, with perks that make getting drunk 50% weaker. The result - it didn't work out.
I dropped the perks and only installed Wine Drunkard, so that the beer gets into the bloodstream more strongly. The result - it worked the first time.

Useful:
Waters of Summer, this potion resets perks. The apothecary in Rattay sells fly agaric, as well as belladonna and wormwood. The laboratory is around the corner.
When you drink, choose the first three answer options and always with three mugs. And we select the answer about the centurion who does not have a mug, then they will appear.
If after the first drink Henry doesn’t say a phrase like “oh, it went well, but you need to be careful,” then it won’t work. If he says, congratulations, he will get drunk.

Level 9 Drunkenness, no perks. According to the main plot, the quest "All That Glitters". All the side stories have been completed by this point in the story, plus the “From the Ashes” DLC, the “Women’s Lot” DLC, and the “Gang of Bastards” DLC. This gave 5 cues in which to drink. I chose the answers with the largest number of mugs. There weren't enough of them to get drunk. At about 75% there was a circle of intoxication at the end. Rebooted. I took the "True Slav" perk. After that, I passed out on cue 3 with the intoxication circle completely filled. The trophy fell out.

PS I rebooted to the safe where I was without the Slav perk. And for some reason I passed out on cue 3 with the intoxication circle 50% filled. This is weird. It turns out there is some element of randomness where you can pass out, but you may not pass out. So you can try several times. If it doesn’t work, then add the perk and try again. It should work.

So, in order to get this achievement you need to get drunk on firewood, for this in the 2nd main quest “Casting lots” you need to sit down with the tailor Ambrose to drink... and make sure that Henry is the first to be knocked out, for this you need to choose lines in the dialogues where most of all glasses of beer.

If your drinking skill is above 11, then no matter how hard you try you will not get the trophy. Even if you reset all talents to zero and choose a wine drinker, there is 0 chance, you will need to start the game from the very beginning and drink very little schnapps and other potions so as not to increase your drunkenness skill...

Level 9 drunkenness, I tried to use any skills in this thread, but no, I couldn’t make Henry pass out. You should come here earlier, when there is no such level of drunkenness.

if you have a high level of drunkenness, try to get as drunk as possible before talking with Ambrose - for this you need a lot of alcohol and even more “potion for heaviness in the stomach.” The main thing to remember is that intoxication does not happen immediately, we drink, wait a couple of minutes, and so on. at level 13 I was able to pass out before talking with an NPC, but during the drinking process it didn’t work out, maybe it’s a matter of chance, and you’ll have better luck
