How to unlock the Hunter achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Definitive Guide

You'll need to hunt and loot 50 animals (hares, deer or boar. Shinwasha adds: Domestic animals like cows, sheep and dogs also count, plus they don’t run away from you.) You don't need to grab anything from the animals, but unless you open up the loot screen, they will not count for the achievement. You will still get experience for your hunting skill though.

A few notes on hunting:

- As mentioned you need to loot the animals for them to count for the achievement.
- You'll need a bow to hunt animals, melee weapons won't work
- You can pick up arrows from the carcasses, as well as from the ground if you miss (most times, sometimes the arrows will break)
- The "hunting spots" will often have animals close by, but not always
- Hunt in the daytime, in the morning there seems to be at least less of them and at night they are asleep
- Hares only require one shot, deer more (depending on your damage) and boar the most
- Getting the "Wild at heart" hunting perk allows you to be pretty much right next to animals for easy shots
- Anyone who spots you killing an animal will accuse you of a crime, and possibly attack you
- If you choose to specifically search for animals, you can do it just fine from a horse and dismount when you spot them for the kill

You can shoot and loot the cows and sheep as well and it counts. Best part is they don't run away.

Dogs work as well. I'm sure if you can open the loot menu on an animal it will count.

I don't think your dog killing the animal lets this count?

Not as hard as it seems. I was level 10 in hunting when I got it. Get good with a bow, press grave (left of 1) and enter wh_pl_showfirecursor=1 if you need a crosshair for your bow, and get hunting. There's a few hunting activities around if you need direction, like the butcher in Sasau and Alex in Rattay.

Any animal you find out in the wilderness will count. It doesn't matter how you kill them, just that you do and loot them after.

Only wild animals such as hares, wild boars, roe deer or red deer are counted.

Just in case, after shooting an animal, it is advisable to skin it, that is, simply find the carcass and inspect its inventory (it is not necessary to take away meat and other skins with horns). Inspecting freshly shot carcasses also increases your hunting skill.

The “Wild Heart” ability, which opens at level 8 of the “Hunting” skill, will significantly help in catching game. Wild animals almost completely cease to be afraid of you.

You can view the total number of shot game in the tab: “Player” > “Statistics” > “Fights” > “Killed animals” item - this same total also includes the killings of sheep, cows, pigs, horses and dogs (killing chickens does not count at all for killing - the chicken is simply converted into a carcass), so keep this in mind.

An excellent place to boost this trophy is the hut between the eastern gate of Rattay and the tavern to the east of this very gate.
A flock of sheep wanders near the hut. We kill them (we get 10-15 corpses in one go), then use fast travel to the already mentioned Rattae gate. We return to the hut, where the sheep are waiting for us again. Repeat until victory.

Not necessarily wild animals! I got it in the prologue in Skalitsa, when I was leveling my bow on sheep and cows.

It is not necessary to inspect the carcass; the trophy fell out after the last roe deer was hit by an arrow.

It's not just wild animals that count. The statistics said “Killed 50 animals” and the prize was won.
