How to unlock the Face to Face achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - Definitive Guide
**Highly Missable**
First things first, despite Henry technically meeting Markvart von Aulitz in “The King’s Gambit” main quest - as well as other places - this achievement actually refers to a specific moment in the game, much later on.
As you approach the closing stages of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s main questline, Henry will have to break out of Suchdol’s fortress as one last hurrah for the anti-Sigismund brigade. In the 30th out of 32 main quests, “Reckoning,” you’ll have to sneak into Suchdol village to find horses so you can go and get the cavalry.
However, there’s a few more things that you can actually do in Suchdol village. One, you can seek out Sam, who’s in a building in the northeast corner - this is a mission objective. And secondly, you can actually find the notorious Markvart von Aulitz - which isn’t a mission objective, and is more like a secret easter egg, of sorts.
To find Markvart, you need to head to the tavern in the centre of town (on the east side of the main street). If you basically run around the outskirts to the east, and then head into the town via the barn behind the tavern, you can get in without much trouble - you can pretty much silently take out every guard on the way to the tavern and slip into the tavern unseen.
In terms of guards… There’ll be two near the camp fire on the east side of the barn, but if you’re patient, one will go and do a patrol round on the west side of the barn, meaning you can take out the one left at the campfire. Then, when the other guard comes back from his patrol, take him out. Next up, just slip through the barn and do the same with the two guards that will patrol and be seated outside the actual tavern.
One of them has a key for the door - but if you don’t want to wait for him to come back, you can pick the very hard door lock. Once inside, go through the left door and a long cutscene will play, and you’ll have the ‘Face to Face’ achievement.
