Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

First things first, you’re going to need to get your hands on the Lead Shot Gunpowder recipe. You can get this in various different places, for example:

• The recipe for Lead Shot Gunpowder is the reward for completing the Opus Magnum side quest (for Kreyzl, the miller).
• The Apothecary in Kuttenberg sells the Lead Shot Gunpowder recipe.
• Lead Shot Gunpowder and Scatter Shot Gunpowder recipes can be found in the chest with the evidence in the main quest, Via Agentum.

Before we get onto the specifics of what you need to do, you’re going to need a load of Schnapps - so head to any pub and speak to any innkeeper or alehouse maid and buy a load of Schnapps. 8 should do, easily.

To make gunpowder you need: Sulphur, Saltpetre and Charcoal (the Apothecary to the south of The Emperor Charles Tavern in Kuttenberg sells them all).

Then, head to an Alchemy station (there’s one in the back of the aforementioned Apothecary) while drinking about 5 of the Schnapps which should get you pretty hammered (depending on your alcohol tolerance). You basically need to enter the second phase of drunk, with the swaying and blurred screen - which is past 50% of the “negative phase” i.e. the second different icon that appears after you drink too much.

To make Lead Shot Gunpowder you need to grind the sulphur and saltpetre (1 each) and add to the cauldron with water. Boil for 2 turns. Grind the charcoal and add to the cauldron. Boil for 2 turns, and then pour into the mortar and grind. You need to get it wrong for this achievement, though, but not so wrong that you fail the alchemy itself.

So, just subtly change one thing i.e. instead of boiling for 2 turns for both phases, just boil for 1. Then, when you pour and grind at the end you’ll get a game over screen with the quote “making gunpowder while drunk was not a very good idea.”

And with that, the ‘Hic-Hic Boom’ achievement will unlock.
