How to unlock the Man's Best Friend achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - Definitive Guide
The quest “Lackey”, will need to be completed to continue with this quest.
Note - If going for the “No Animal Deaths” run, this involves Wolves 2/3 times, so keep your distance when hiding in the bushes, and then when finally found Mutt, just run away.
Getting your hands back on your trusted sidekick might seem relatively straightforward, but unfortunately it is not. Especially for a low level Henry. It is possible though, and Mutt can change your fortunes in battle, so it is definitely worth seeking out as soon as possible.
You’ll get the side quest, “Mutt,” as soon as you get full access to the open-world after the prologue, but there are certain hoops that must be jumped through along the way to track him down - even completing another side quest.
The tasks you need to complete are as follows:
- Speak to Bozhena, the herbwoman and enquire about Mutt.
- Speak to and assist the shepherd, Siegfried to the north of Tachov.
- Speak to the fisherman to the far west of Tachov, at the south of Vidlak Pond.
- Speak to Zlata at the Hunstman Vosatek lodge to the east of the fisherman, up on the hill (near the path back to Tachov) and start the side quest, “Lackey.”
- Complete the side quest “Lackey” and ask Vosatek about your dog.
- Then, head to the west of Semine (west of the Nomad’s Camp) and into a small rocky area in the eastern cliffs at the bank of the river (east of the Bathing Spot at the bottom of Rocktower Pond). Once you’re close enough, a cutscene will play and you’ll be back with Mutt - and facing off against a pack of wolves (if you’re going for the Lent (10G) achievement too, just run away).
You might even be able to head straight to the endpoint, but we had to do it the long way round. Give it a try, and if all else fails, you know what needs to be done to unlock the ‘Man’s Best Friend’ achievement.
We’ve prepared a couple of supplementary guides if you need more assistance:
