How to unlock the Nimble Fingers achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - Definitive Guide
In order to unlock the ‘Nimble Fingers’ achievement, you simply need to pick a “very hard” lock. I say simple, but it’s anything but early on in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - and it’s not that much better later on, thanks to how non-intuitive the lockpicking is on consoles.
So, first things first, you should adopt the claw strategy for lockpicking by holding the right stick with your hand acting like a claw machine gripping onto the right stick, as the controller rests on your leg. Then, hold the (don’t let go), and move the stick around with the claw grip, moving the reticule so that it’s always a yellow circle. It’ll take some practice, that’s for sure, but it’s better than the alternative.
Once you get used to it, though, you’ll be a lockpicking expert in no time. There are a few things that can make lockpicking 1,000% easier too. They are as follows:
- Upping your Thievery skill by lockpicking and pickpocketing - you can use the “Materia Prima” side quest from Kreyzl the miller (at the Lower Semine Mill) to boost this if you want.
- A Quickfinger potion will increase your Thievery stat temporarily, making it easier to pick locks.
You’ll also want to unlock the following perks:
- Tool Master (Thievery) - Your lockpicks will be more durable and last 15% longer before breaking (level 8).
- Silent Fiddler (Thievery) - You’re almost silent when using a lockpick, and if it happens to break, the sound will be 75% quieter (level 6).
- Hustler (Speech) - Selling stolen goods gives you a Thievery and Stealth experience boost.
We managed to pick the very hard lock on the door at the abandoned and overgrown village (unnamed and doesn’t have an icon) to the southeast of Troskowitz - on the road that leads to the Schdiar Farm - at only level 14 Thievery, only breaking 2 lockpicks in the process. So, it’s possible early on and doesn’t necessarily need a high Thievery level. If you suck at it, though, level up your Thievery and try again at a higher level.
Once you’ve picked a ‘very hard’ lock, you’ll unlock the ‘Nimble Fingers’ achievement.
Drink a strong Quickfinger potion to increase your thievery for an extra hand.
