How to unlock the Weapon of Choice achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - Definitive Guide
Webb There are various types of weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, ranging from swords and polearms, to crossbows and even guns!
The weapons and their categories are as follows:
- Swords - Short, Long, Hunting and Sabres.
- Heavy Weapons - Clubs, Maces, Axes and Warhammers.
- Polearms - Spears, Halberds, Glaives and Poleaxes.
- Marksman - Bows, Crossbows and Guns.
- Other - Daggers.
Now, it sounds like you’d need to defeat an enemy with all of them, right? But, honestly, we unlocked this without even using half of them. For instance, we’d never even picked up a spear, let alone killed someone with it.
Even more bizarrely, we unlocked the achievement when we pushed over a ladder during a siege… something we’d done multiple times, with the same polearm we’d used throughout.
So, for some it might unlock in the natural scheme of things. If it doesn’t, however, then just work your way through the list of weapons above until it unlocks - weapon clarifications can be found on the info page of each weapon, under the name of the weapon in italic (i.e. Bladed - Long).
Once you’ve got a kill with each weapon type, the ‘Weapon of Choice’ achievement should unlock. If not, keep picking up weapon types and getting a kill on an “enemy” until it does unlock. Emphasis on enemy, so don’t even try wandering around Kuttenberg trying to get this, you animal! I would say its one from each category, but having used a Longsword my whole game, I switched to a Short Sword and it unlocked. I didn't use any two-handed weapons.
I also used - (But unsure if these count).
Training Sword
Hunting Sword
This wouldn’t unlock for me after going through near all possible weapon types after buying and killing civs in Kuttenberg.. I jumped in the caravan back to Trosky to go get the training sword as I felt like I hadn’t used that yet & after I arrived it popped for whatever reason, hope it works for those also struggling to get it to pop
