How to unlock the Judas achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Definitive Guide
This achievement is kinda currently bugged on 1.2. If you've progressed past entering the Vranik camp and finding out who your father is, you can not talk to Olena on the Masquerade quest, which is the quest before Gallows Brothers and A Rock and a Hard Place. With that out of the way let's start at the beginning.
You will need to start the Quest "A Friend in Need" and follow through to Quest " Is A Friend Indeed" found by talking to Matthew and Fritz at the lodgings south of the Monastery. I'm not sure how early in the game you can start this quest, just keep an eye for a gold bullet point at this location on the map.
About two days in-game after you complete the above, you'll want to speak to the innkeeper in Ledetchko, and he should tell you about Matthew and Fritz and they left for the Inn at the Glade. Speak to them there and you'll start quest "Masquerade" and into "Besmirched"
After that I think you'll need to speak to Andrew, Matthew, and Fritz at the Inn at the Glade. Start with Matthew and you'll get the quest "A Rock and a Hard Place" Speak to Andrew about what he thinks about the job given by Matthew, and he'll suggest Turning them in to Robard in Talmberg, starting "Gallows Brothers"
Go back to Matthew and tell him that Andrew wants to turn them in, and then suggest to Matthew that you pin the robbery on Andrew.
From there, head to Talmberg, up the stairs to the top in the very south of the castle, to the hard locked chest. Pick it open and take out the gold for miners (3000). You'll have an empty sack under quest items, and the 3000 gold under other. See the video below:
Travel back to the Inn and place the empty sack on top of the barrel in Andrew's basement:
Travel back to Talmberg, and report all 3 Andrew, Matthew, and Fritz to Captain Robard. Travel back to the Inn and interact with the hanging bodies:
Completes both "Rock and a Hard Place", " Gallows Brothers", and unlocks the Judas achievement.
I'm trying to rack my brain if Masquerade and Besmirched were connected to each other, but I think I had to do both before I could start "A Rock and a Hard Place" and "Gallows Brothers".
NOTE: It is highly recommended that you take a Saviour Schnapps prior to speaking to Matthew and initiating this quest, as your actions can and will lead to to the deaths of certain characters, the failure of several quests and activities, a potential loss of reputation, and make you miss out on an achievement.
This achievement cannot be earned in conjunction with:
In order to begin 'A Rock and a Hard Place, you must have already completed the quests 'A Friend in Need...' in Sasau and '...Is a Friend Indeed' at the Ledetchko Mill, followed by 'Masquerade' and 'Besmirched' at the Inn in the Glade.
1. Speak to Matthew at the Inn at the Glade and agree to participate in the Talmberg Quarry heist.
2. After having exhausted relevant dialogue with Matthew (and Fritz), speak with Andrew the Inkeeper and question him about his unwillingness to participate in the plot. Do not begin 'A Rock and a Hard Place without having spoken to Andrew first: completion of this quest without initiating 'Gallows Brothers' will prevent you from doing the quest and earning the achievement.
You can the inform Matthew of Andrew's scheme, and suggest that they turn the tables on Andrew instead.
At this point, you will ride to Talmberg to begin 'A Rock and a Hard Place.' There are multiple ways to complete this quest (with or without combat, making the heist more or less difficult based on your choices) - I have highlighted two of the simpler methods.
3A. (Stealth/No Combat): Ride to Talmberg and climb the stairs to where there is a Hard chest at the top of the keep. Steal the Quarrymen's wages and acquire the empty bag. Requires high lock picking skills. Ride to where Matthew and Quarry are stationed and split the take with them.
3B. (Heist/No Combat): Ride to Talmberg and speak to Captain Robard on the battlements. Pass the required Charisma and Speech skill checks to reduce the number of guards. Do not select the option to Snitch, as this will make your task more difficult and/or invalidate the achievement, should your friends be killed.
Go to the Talmberg Keep's courtyard and speak to the Stablemaster to find out more information for the heist. Pass the Horsemanship and Speech skill checks and agree to deal with the horses' colic problems. Then, ride to the nearby Herbalist in the forest northeast of Talmberg and choose the 'Poison' option, then purchase Poison from her. Return to the groom at Talmberg and give him the poison.
Take the road behind the castle to where Matthew and Fritz are positioned above the quarry. (You may wish to save here using a Saviour Schnapps, just in case). Share what you've learned with Matthew, and then agree to wait with them. The game will then wait the requisite five days.
Upon taking back control of Henry, do not speak with Matthew or Fritz. Instead, proceed to the quarry to begin the heist. Assuming you succeeded in reducing the guard presence, there will be only a few archers positioned around the perimeter of the worker's camp, and one infantryman patrolling by the fire. Note that only the worker's camp itself is a no-trespassing zone.
Enter the camp from the North and sneak into the hut closest to the bridge when the guard is not looking and no worker is nearby. Pick the Easy lock on the chest and retrieve the Quarrymen's wages and acquire the empty bag. Exit the camp stealthily and make your way to the clearing en route to Rovna where you will split the take with Matthew and Fritz. (Don't be greedy - your mates will attack you if you withhold their share of the wages.)
4. Having completed A Rock and a Hard Place, you can now return to the Inn in the Glade. (Consider saving here, if you want to save your progress from the heist, but not the consequences of 'Gallows Brothers'). Go to the basement, and place the empty sack on the barrels in the back room.
5. Ride to Talmberg, and speak with Captain Robard once more, telling him you know who committed the robbery. Select 'Andrew, Matthew, and Fritz.' You will note that this has resulted in the failure of any active quests and activities association with Andrew the Innkeeper.
6. Return to the Inn on the Glade, and interact with the hanging corpses of your oldest mates -- Achievement unlocked!
Now reload your save and try to forget about the horrible thing you just did.
*spolier*
Rob the quarrymen's pay shipment.

MISSABLE
You need to complete this quest before you do the main quest "The Die is Cast" or it will automatically fail. You can find your buddies Matthew and Fritz at Sasau near the Tavern. Talk to them and help them find work. This will start the quest "A Friend In Need...". Finish it and the next quest will start automatically after enough time passes. Then the following quests will either be obtained by talking to Andrew or Matthew at the Inn in the Glade. Keep working through the quest line until completed.

For the last two quests, talk to Matthew to start "A Rock and a Hard Place". After, talk to Andrew and you'll get the quest "Gallows Brothers". After obtaining the quest, go back and talk with Matthew and tell him that Andrew is planning on betraying him and then lay the blame on him. You'll then go to get the sack of coin, which is located in a Talmberg Watchertower, the one up the wooden stairs by the stables. The chest (hard) you want is in front of the ladder. After obtained, go back to the Inn and go to the basement and open the locked door and interact with the barrels there to place the sack. Go to Sir Robard and accuse Andrew, Matthew and Fritz of stealing it. Head back to the Inn and you should see three people hanging, check it out to finish the quest.
- A Friend In Need...
- ...Is a Friend Indeed
- Masquerade
- Besmirched
- A Rock and a Hard Place / Gallows Brothers
WARNING: This quest has implications on the Friends without benefits trophy from the "From the Ashes" DLC. If you betray your friends, you will not be able to get that trophy so I suggest obtaining this trophy and then reloading an older save file.
We are mainly interested in the quest "Brothers on the Gallows". To gain access to it, we must take the quest from Matush “Wherever you throw it, there’s a wedge everywhere.” After he filled us in on the details of the plan and we agreed to help him, we go to Ondrzej and ask why he is not in the business. After a short dialogue, he will offer to hand over everyone to the captain of Talmberg and give the quest “Brothers on the Gallows”. After receiving the quest "Brothers in the Gallows" you need to talk to Matus and tell him that Ondzhey wants to turn them in. You agree that Ondrzej needs to be framed . The whole point is that you cannot complete the quest in the usual way (with the help of a full-fledged passage) and you have to look for workarounds.
1) Having two accepted quests in hand, we go to Talmberg, find the chest we need, break into (Hard) and steal money from there for the stonemasons. In addition to money, we also receive the quest item “Empty Money Bag” in our inventory, or something like that. Visually - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmrxneOPwWA
2) Next, we go back to the tavern, go into the basement of the inkeeper and plant evidence on him. Visually - https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=G2xUYR9XxX4
3) We return to the captain in Talmberg and hand over all three of them. We return to the tavern, admire the hanged men and loot the trophy.
PS To gain access to the robbery quest, the following quests must be completed: “True Friend” “True Friends” “Masquerade” and “Damaged”. All of them are related to your friends and must be completed. You can start the chain of these quests in the tavern next to the monastery, where we meet them for the first time after the events in Skalitsa.
