Patience.
Make sure to not double tap your movement keys.
Always stop, wait 2 seconds, then start walking again.
Turning around is safer. pressing right then left, or vice versa, will not make you run.
Side Note: I never galloped until day 11 and when i galloped on day 11 it did not pop. So pay attention to the days.
You have to run to make the achievement pop.
